So, to anyone who bothered to watch Beef and Beetus' streams, did they ever mention why the "quick hiatus due to Beetus's moving" turned into the unofficial death of RP and led to them not doing anything together for years? Or do they still just avoid that topic and act like whoever thinks they are hiding something is silly and delusional?

I mean I kinda think they arent avoiding it as much as there just isnt that much to tell. By the time Slowbeef was giving up being mod, he went on one of their Retsutalk podcasts, probably the only one I listened too, and basically addressed that he was kind of "done" with being an internet celebrity altogether, to a degree. He didnt announce that he was quitting entirely, but that if the opportunity didnt come up or make itself available, he wasnt going to seek out making content. And frankly by the time Retsutalk had started and was more than like a 1- or 2-off thing, I had considered Retsupurae already "dead". They had gone through at least one channel and I think had two strikes on the second, so they were being forced to play nice to keep ads and shit, and I think they were kind of getting bored of it anyway. A lot of the snobbery Retsupurae used to drag people over (and some things like monetization and ads on lets plays, sponsorships or being partnered) ended up bleeding over into the broad youtube scene anyway, and became not only popular, but profitable. I remember them hating Pewdiepie, but he was well on his way to his first millions by the time they had sort of given up, and I think Markiplier and JackSepticEye or the other PDP-like guy had sprung up too.

As well as they worked together, they really were just long distance internet friends and its like if you ever had a pen pal as part of school as a kid, youre like, "Yeah Ill get back to him, Ill write him back or hit him up when I get around to it," and you just never do.

I can totally understand that they got burned out, they'd been going at it for almost a decade, life gets in the way, their channel was stagnant for years and frankly their last videos were pretty bad. I just feel like their fans deserved at least a bit of closure. I'm not saying they should make a 10 minute long forced apology video with sad music in the background, but I don't think it's too entitled to say their fans deserve at least a "hey guys, we're sorry, we got tired of this, channel's over".

The channel ended in the middle of a series, and months after the last episode Beef was smugly poking fun at people who doubted they'd come back, only to later unlist the unfinished series and the last podcast he and Betus did together without saying a word. A whole year after that, Slowbeef tweeted promising a next series that never materialized. If you check the last video on their channel, you'll still see people asking what happened to the channel and when/if they are coming back to this very day.

Also I'd love it if you could find out which retsutalk had that line, I need to giggle at Slowbeef claiming being a SA mod and shitting on bad LPers back in 2008 made him an e-celeb.

Love or hate Retsupurae, the fact that their fairly small channel got on Pewdiepie's radar enough for the latter to get mad was kinda funny.

Internet archive has Daikatana which is why I never bothered reposting it, and Baldurk has most of my others (last I checked).

It is nice that some of these LPs have been preserved.

I think the Quake 2 LP is still there somewhere as well.

Not too long ago I was looking at my parents computer because it had a problem and to my surprise there was one of the Daikatana LP parts on the desktop, I must of downloaded it years ago and they never do any file tidying I guess.

Decided to check in on the LP.zone since this thread is back and color me legitimately surprised:

A two year old thread about being alphabet and it's only racked up 216 posts.

Nobody's even taking the time to cry about their mistreatment by the pandemic!

Maybe they're all posting in the LP Zone of LP.zone you might say. But they have less than 30 active threads going. VoidBurger and her son have truly created a successful forum and I suggest that if KiwiFarms goes down that we migrate there.

I just checked her Youtube channel for the first time in like a year and she's uploading facecam twitch streams, now. And she looks more like a tranny than ever:

In some of his recent twitch streams Diabetus was using a facecam, too (he actually even mentioned that he was being a hypocrite as he used to mock people that used them). He also seems to always wear a hat to cover his hair, when he does facecam:

I suspect the reason he does this is to hide his receding hairline, which was already very noticeable several years ago (I guess he's kind of like Tim Pool in that regard). He's still looking good for his age imo, should just shave his head if it bothers him.

My best guess as to why they seem to have changed their stance on facecam is maybe they're planning to jump ship from YouTube and transition to Twitch entirely?
