Let's Players you like

I've been watching a lot of Oneyplays lately. There's something about watching three guys play games while acting completly exceptional that makes me laugh. I also like Vinesauce, mainly Vinny and Joel.

I like Joel as well, but one of my favorites is an obscure guy named Mikennemonic. He's probably best known for this video:

I like him because he's got a really dry sense of humor and because most of the time he's playing really weird shit.
Unfortunately he no longer regularly puts out videos or does streams.

I've been following a lot of the older SA lets players for a while. Some of them still do stuff and it's pretty good.
In particular, I like:

Chip Cheezum & General Ironicus - Their Metal Gear LPs are great, same with Uncharted. Videos are generally high quality with actual editing.

Vinny/Vinesauce - I absolutely love his weird game streams and shovelware showcase. Plus he seems like a legitimately cool guy. I'm going to say most of the other Vinesauce streamers are pretty okay too. Joel is probably my other favorite.

Men Drinkin' Coffee - Group LPers who mostly play bad games. In particular, their Golden Compass LP is great, as are their collection of "Advergames" videos.

Pokecapn - Did the original Sonic 2006 LP and a bunch of other modern Sonic shit.

Niggurath/iconoclast187 - Mostly horror games. There's something about him playing these "scary" games and talking completely casual the whole time that I enjoy.

Anybody who doesn't think humor equals topping the decibel scale with screaming and yelling tends to work out alright

Occasionally i watch Jerma985 and STAR_ shitpost on TF2.
They give off an emotion of playfulness you don't see in a lot of lets plays nowadays.

I've been a fan of Monster Factory and the McElroy's (yeah he's a cuck, but he's an entertaining one) other assorted projects for awhile, although that's less an LP and more of a "how hard can we break this game". I hope someday they can escape Polygon.

Used to watch BestFriendPlay a lot, but they haven't done any games that held my interest in awhile, the story driven fake choice type games like the David Cage trilogy, or abysmally broken Silent Hill games.

And SovietWomble's videos are always good, but again those aren't really LPs, they're compilations of his clan's MP games where they can't go 5 seconds without fucking eveyrthing up.

I think watching people play games is boring and gay but I'll watch a Robazz video from time to time. He's a pretty funny guy.

If you like Quill18 check out Hadrian, he plays strategy games like Civ 6 and Stellaris and usually posts daily.

If you like Minecraft videos try out the Hermitcraft group. There's enough of them that you should be able to find a few you'd want to watch regularly. The best builders in the group are probably GoodTimesWithScar and FalseSymmentry, and I would also recommend Xisumavoid, Iskall85 and Rendog as well.

As a question though, can anyone recommend any LPers like chuggaconroy who do really detailed 100% runs of games?

Pokecapn - Did the original Sonic 2006 LP and a bunch of other modern Sonic shit.

I'm still sad the posse disbanded. Sonic 2006 and the Four Swords Adventure LP were fucking legend and I (like everyone) was hoping they'd also do Crystal Chronicles before dismantling the Gigaquad.

On a similar note, it sucks that Kung-Fu Jesus/Spacekop and co. never finished their LP of Lightning Returns because that game was a mess. The LP of XIII-2 is still pretty great though.

Kpopp, but only because she plays really ridiculous games sometimes

If Joel from Vinesauce and Cr1TiKaL count, then they're probably my favorites because they seem like people you just have so much dumb fun with irl.

If it's been a while since you've seen PewDiePie, I recommend giving his channel another chance. I did when the smear campaign against him started and found he's gotten a lot funnier since the old days.

I used to regularly watch game grumps untill they played Oot, a game designed for 8-16 yo that was just too confusing for a 28 yo man. It was cancer.

Kubz Scouts used to annoy me but he grew on me, he seems like a decent person underneat the jokes.

Same with me lol. Egoraptor's got a pretty bad case of the Everything-Was-Better-When-I-Was-Twelve-s.

There used to be a lot of great SA LPers before things got political. The Freelance Astronauts were really good, Maxwell Adams is hilarious. Pokecapn and the posse were great too. Their stuff was like listening to you and your friends having a video game and alcohol-fueled all-nighter in college if you were actually as funny as you thought you were. I also remember really liking Vicas' Super Mario 64 LP where he played through the whole game using only his feet. It was actually a good way to make a game that's played to death really interesting and funny.

Dave O's the only one that I know of that still does stuff while remaining funny as hell. He's inhumanly chilled out all the time.
