I looked up this reviewer, and apparently he had a gig making videos for rogerebert.com for a while. The fact that this is a former professional makes the review even more lolworthy:

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
2.5 stars

I'll be honest y'all...this movie just makes me feel exhausted. Jokes pass mirthlessly, set pieces fail to get my heart rate up, the whole thing just...fucking...SITS THERE... I don't know, it's like Spielberg's weird doppelganger made the film, but that's a cop out, I just have to admit there's a big section of his heart where he lets in the redoubtable humor of George Lucas and the whole Gunga Din spirit of colonialist cinema with glee and verve and a red carpet. I don't know...it just ain't for me. I'm clearly not above orientalist fantasia (just watch the essay I have super embarrassing blindspots like any stupid fucking white guy) and I like Apocalypse Now though I see how that too is problematic colonialist cinema because EVERYTHING America gives the world is colonialist cinema! Whoops! It's almost like...we're throwing money into killing more muslims right now! Because it's our policy! That's America! And Maybe?! That's it, but to be honest I don't know. There's no sane sensibly way you tie in a decades later sigh at Temple of Doom at the problem of Joe Biden sinking millions into a genocide but I just don't know how else to channel my energy. I'm broke, I can't donate. I'm retired/unemployable, I can't write. I'm a coward and a quaker, I can't pick up a gun. So this is it. I offer full throated sympathy and pray to nothingness that the government who bombs in my name stops doing it. Please. From the River to the Sea. Stop conflating "it's complicated" with "it's hard." It's not hard to say I want a genocide to end. I'm saying it right now. When the press found Sitting Bull after the Black Hill wars he said "I am nothing. Neither a chief, nor a soldier." It's vulgar and stupid to use those words...yet we all do implicitly. All the time. Every day. This isn't criticism. This is resignation. This is sadness. This is misery and emptiness. This is despair.

the newest libtard garbage flim is the 26th highest rated flim on the site shocker
It does feel like there are one or two movies every year that are rated insanely highly in their first few months of release, before coming back down to a slightly more reasonable average - Sinners was like that earlier this year, but that's dropped down from a 4.3 peak to a (still unwarrantedly high) 4.1. One Battle After Another is at a 4.4 now, also still ridiculously high. It being the 26th highest rated film on the site at any point in time (putting it just ahead of Goodfellas, There Will Be Blood, and Tokyo Story, for example) is lunacy.

I was curious what the general consensus of the site was for OBAA, and, similar to the reaction of users to Sinners, every popular review is either rephrasing the same blanket praise or dumb safe horny one liners about how hot the black women in the movie are (:story:). Just complete drivel, but that's not a shock coming from this userbase. It took scrolling through four pages of the most popular reviews to find one that was even remotely critical.

At this point I wouldn't be shocked if some of these new releases in recent years (think along the lines of this & Sinners, any big release that is explicit in being anti-white/progressive/woke/insert buzzword here) are being botted with 5 star reviews. Just for fun, I checked the first page of five star reviews for both OBAA and Sinners, and noticed quite a few of most recent ratings, at the time of me screengrabbing, were from blank pfps:

To be fair, blank pfps are not really a dead giveaway - some people just don't care enough to customize their profile and use LB exclusively as a personal film log, which is fair - but 13/25 recent ratings for OBAA and 17/25 for Sinners being from default pfps on a random check throws me off a little bit. Notice how almost none of the blank profiles have an accompanying review for the film - just the 5 star rating and, in most cases, a like. Checking some of the profiles at random, they're usually not routinely active, and often only rate movies in short bursts, going off of their Activity tabs. Is there an army of shill accounts that exist exclusively to astroturf these new propaganda films movies even more than the useful idiot Letterboxd userbase already does?

Sorry for schizoposting - this should probably be taken with a grain of salt, given my rudimentary look at a very small sample size, but I found it somewhat interesting. I still think Letterboxd is a great tool for logging movies, and a recent update to the mobile app (at least on Android) has made the community reviews for movies really easy to ignore, which is good. But how pozzed it is from the top down is really unfortunate.

i wouldnt be surprised

Average Letterboxd user.

Why would I donate to some faggot to keep writing reviews about how much he hates wypipo .
I have not seen this mentioned anywhere on the website. I honestly believe this person is worthy of a lolcow thread, but I am nowhere near experienced enough to tackle such an undertaking and start digging up his other profiles. Just in case you don't know what he looks like, this is his youtube channel (archive).

I actually did try digging up more info on this person when I stumbled upon his letterboxd account but somehow missed this particular bit of info. Either it didn't show up at the time or I completely overlooked it. At first I thought that maybe this was just a coincidence since the gofundme (archive) I found refers to the user with female pronouns and this is a very masculine looking balding man with a beard, however...

...and along with these there are quite a few videos featuring him wearing various dresses. So I guess it really is a tranny.

He also frequently uses the same typing style as the letterboxd in the descriptions as well.

And there is also a film review that sounds the exact same as his written reviews, just spoken out-loud. So I don't think there's any doubts this is the same person. It's funny because I made a shot in the dark at this guy being a tranny in my original post, but I could have never imagined it being THIS much of a gem.
I also found a bandcamp with Nathaxnne's "music," though it's not much different from his youtube channel and is just filled with readings of random poems. (archive)

The hilarious thing is that this person actually seems to be a quite beloved member of the platform. Looking on r/letterboxd brings up nathaxnne plenty of times and they all refer to him in a positive light. If you already don't hate letterboxd users enough, this freak is actually a highly respected member of the community!

Too bad he doesn't really have much going for him other than his schizo-rant movie reviews (in which he is still going strong.) Letterboxd is so much more of an alt-left cesspit than it initially appears to be on the surface and the day this site fucking dies will be a glorious one.
