As for the original question of this thread -- whether or not the negativity to gays on the farms bothers me -- I think this place has really given me some perspective. Society should really be structured around a way that works in general like man-woman-children with an important dose of religion. Having acceptance or tolerance for some unproductive homos is great but when society refocuses on lil nas getting aids or birthing persons or pronouns...well that is a world that is committing suicide slowly.

What you're describing is exactly why people hate current day troons. Troons used to do their shit, pass very poorly, and no one would pay them much mind. They got to pretend they are a woman, and everyone else would be nice and pretend they don't notice the 5 o'clock shadow, Adam's apple, and deep baritone. Nope, that's not enough anymore, they demand that we ask about pronouns, and we have to make sure never to accidentally misgender them because "My Dysphoria!". Pretending they aren't a freak show isn't enough, we have to truly believe they are the gender they are LARPing as, otherwise, once again "My Dysphoria!".

Once someone makes something about themselves everyone else's issue, that's when people start to get pissed.
