My heart level is ~37% today.

I'm gonna assume you're asking on the basis of sexuality so I'm gonna say in general, it doesn't have too big an impact passively on my happiness. When you like someone who's straight and this will never show interest in you, that definitely is cause for unhappiness, but I imagine a lot of people are better at sniffing out faggots than I, only look for their Heart Sweet in gay spaces, or have that "every straight man is secretly gay so he's actually the problem" cope to keep them from having to accept that they're just incompatible.

That being said, ymmv on how much you want to categorize "someone doesn't like me because he's straight" as an exclusively lgbt thing since it can just as easily be swapped out for "someone doesn't like me because I'm short" or "someone doesn't like me because I'm awkward" and have very emotionally-similar results, just with a different cause.

I'm actually pretty happy in life. Not at this very moment though, since I am trying to practice Latin and encountered an adjective that behaves like a noun (in fact it is the subject of the sentence) and I just cannot wrap my head around how that works (no, it does not exist as a noun, or rather the word is a valid noun, but it means something completely different than the adjective). Earlier I also encountered a sentence in my native language, where I misidentified the subject -- I guess "use it or lose it" is true even for elementary school stuff. In short, feeling very small-brained at the moment, but otherwise life is going well, I could do with more time though.
 
Yes. Hobbies and things you do outside of work definitely help you to live a fuller, more fulfilling life. It gives your mind something to do so it's not focusing on negative or stressful things, and has the added bonus of giving you something to feel proud of and in turn boost your mood. Even better if it's something that can be used to talk to people and share with them.

Drawing is a good one to get into imo but I'm biased since I like to draw already. When you're able to bust out a piece that your proud of, it can really do wonders for your mood and by extension your stress.

Most definitely. I would choose my wife, over and over again. Even as we've both changed and evolved over the years she's still pretty much perfect to me. She feels the same way about me which is pretty bitchin'.
 
Anyone know how to manage celibacy without going frustratingly insane? It's at the point I can't watch certain youtube channels† because the hosts inspire white hot piercing lust. And no, masturbation is not an option.

If you insist on being celibate, read the easy peasy method book. It’s more for porn addicts but you may be able to apply it to your life

Meditation helps as it gives you a lot of control over what's going on in your head

What's the reason for the celibacy? Religious?
