Lies of P - First proper bloodborne like - Which is about *checks notes* steampunk Pinochio kicking ass made by Koreans

I think it's fine. Shadows Of The Erdtree was not very fun in my opinion and judging from the very mid reviews I'm far from the only person who thought that.
SotE (and a majority of ER) is just not very fun, in general. Bosses have just become so ridiculous and has gone so far beyond what the subgenre got right. The combat system in Souls has never been that deep; games like Sekiro, Nioh 2 and Lies of P were perfect remedies to ongoing issue I have with Souls and Soulslike.

If you like P and Nioh, you should try Khazan. I haven't seen it mentioned on the games board so I never bothered making a thread but it's bretty good.

Yea I heard good things about that one. Too bad there's no CC though. I enjoy making the Jewiest Happy Merchant or ugliest bugman possible.

I don't think the linked video mentioned it but in addition to the boss rush difficulties which seem to be increases from the base difficulty, the DLC is adding two other difficulties to the main game which are easier than the default. Make of that what you will.
Personally, I thought P was pretty easy with the exception of the Nameless Puppet which shits all over pre nerf King of Puppets.
Honestly I just got sick of Souls difficulty in games. I'd rather have a game that doesn't encourage cheesing and lets me play a semi optimized build rather than break my balls every boss encounter or be dependent on cheese strats.

It's just not fun or make the game flow well. It's alright to make the final boss actually tough but not easte my time every chapter boss.

Not played, but this is what someone on a Discord server told me:

"I dont recommend it. It's even worse than elden ring. Enemies and traps placed perfectly to spambush or straight up kill you in half the levels, the other half just linear corridors of some of the most boring enemies to fight. And the reward for dredging through the levels is to fight far too overtuned bosses. They all hold their attacks just long enough to screw with your reflexes to the point that you are guessing at when the attacks are going to come through. Some of them have four phases. One of them when you burn down the first health bar gives you the "Mission Accomplished" popup, then respawns into a third phase after a few seconds with a whole new spammy as fuck particle effect vomit moveset that, if you die to it, you get to do the first 2 phases all over."

Basically, just stick to Nioh.

FromSlop retarded cocksuckers spent 15 years yelling that it's IMPOSSIBLE to implement difficulty levels in souls games just for a bunch of gooks to do exactly that in a few months.

But make no mistake, I bet my asshole a bunch of souls "content creators" will boycoty this DLC just because of the "journalist difficult".

Yeah I also heard Khazan was quite difficult and Iron Pineapple also got mad in his video segment of people complaining that it was too hard which is rare for him. It's not on game pass and I don't want to waste spending money on a game I might hate because SotE really soured me on difficulty for the sake of difficulty.

I would like also Team Ninja to stop making watered down versions of Nioh 2. I don't need them to make another Nioh game but stop releasing games with watered down systems from Nioh and fix your PC ports. It feels like they hit their peak with Nioh 2 and now are lost on what to do.

That boss is the tits. 10/10 doused in Rickey's. I didn't think the game was any harder than SotE but my autism has warped my perspective beyond measure.

I fucking hate that behaviour in modern games. If an enemy wants to play retard and hold his attack to fake out, allow me to hit it to cancel the attack rather than play glorified wack a mole.

Playing it and the difficulty balancing definitely feels weird. In the beginning area, some of the random mobs just gang up on you with insanely long attack chains and hit like a fucking mack truck. The big kangaroo, big ape, and elephant that explodes into the multi-headed thing are just pure cancer.

Then you get to the first boss and it's inexplicably way easier than the mobs. At least it was for me. After the first area the difficulty chills out slightly though some of the big enemies will still just obliterate you instantly if you aren't careful.

The new weapons are really cool. The gunblade especially is probably one of my favorite weapons ever in a souls game.
