This popped up for me

I haven't fully finished watching it, and there's a lot of bleeding heart bullshit here but the weird stuff I've heard so far that's tangible:

- They claimed to make 5K copies of Night Trap, and then kept printing it afterwards to cash in it claiming they don't release print numbers so no one will know.
- They used credit cards to build credit card reward points to spend on Coach bag gift cards both for personal use and to resell.
- The company bought houses for the owner and cars as business expenses.
- They used CDR instead of pressed discs to save costs, the former decays a lot more quickly.
- They intentionally didn't mention DRM on games.
- They assumed people would never open the games to play them so didn't care about quality and wanted to do giveaways no one would claim.
- Claimed to donate damaged games to children's hospitals but movement of damaged games were suspicious and eventually they changed it to say they sold damaged games in other ways.

Edit: The video creator is retarded though, he claims HR is to protect employees.

They're scammers, OP. Turns out it's really easy to scam the gaming "community."
I get that, but it seems like the guy running it is retarded enough to be a curiosity, or a lolcow as some may say.

I got this video too, very interesting watch as to what this company's been up to. I'm only aware of them because they were involved with promoting a shitty "parody" game that acts as a "homage" to the old Zelda/Mario CD-i games that were popular with YouTube Poops (only having none of the charm of what made the cutscenes enjoyable in otherwise pretty shite games).
More can be read about in the YTP Community thread here: https://kiwifarms.st/threads/youchew-yellowtealpurple-other-youtube-poop-cults.17299/post-19610666
But if you have time, the guy behind the video also made a video of them 3 years prior if you want to learn more about the company I guess.

I've gotten a few things from them that I'm really happy with like Scott pilgrim, night in the woods, postal redux and I have no mouth and I must scream ,which was more just selling old sealed copies from ellison's estate, but in the last few years they've been free falling. You never know weither it's something that will be completely unavailable, stay in there rotation of throwback sales for years or if it will just be put on amazon a couple of weeks later.
I know collectors edition are always an overpriced money squeeze but it's beyond fucking ridiculous now, the fomula is a hundred more bucks for a steel book, poster, Keychain and 2 inch paperweight.
Wanting everyone to be able to buy a copy of a game to play but also complaining they are printing too many so your collectable boxed copy isn't holding value at the same time is funny.
I just want consistency, I could give a fuck how rare or what the theoretical aftermarket value is. Is this an actual made to order monthly release or are you lying to my face and printing an extra 500 hundred to sell in you repeating sales that we promise will sell out any second and not be there for literal years?

LMAO, look who showed up right at the end of the video:

I thought LRG sounded familiar besides the Youtube Poop game, you can see Jirard has had a hand in "video game preservation" groups like the Video Game Preservation Foundation and LRG by buying every e-shop game there is. These groups are always up to market manipulation and lefty bullshit, you can read a bit more about Vidya preservation nonsense from his thread by @NoonmanR and others below:

Also some of their releases meant for CD consoles didn't function properly because of that, as some platforms required specifically pressed CD's instead of IBM PC compatible CD-R's for obvious reasons.

Obviously people gobbled that shit up anyway because gamers are retarded nigger cattle. Online-only DRM and distribution is bad, sure, but GOG solved that by allowing you to download the installers so you can archive them offline. However, all you need is a bit of exaggeration of the issue and play into people's nostalgia for physical big box releases and hey presto, now you've got a solid scam business revolving around reselling haphazardly made physical games, making bank off of gullible retards that cannot physically stop themselves from consuming product.

I had a few switch releases that i couldn't get from playasia, the last one was heavily delayed and the fuck around to get them to send it was the last time i bought anything from them. And this was years ago it wasn't even collector i just wanted a physical copy of a game cause it was cheaper.

Got one game from LRG and it was a shipping nightmare. Did get the product though.

But I cannot recommend them. Their website is scummy as hell. FOMO bullshit everywhere. It feels scummier than those "appraised/rated" games you see in plastic cases. Who wants a 9.2 near mint copy of Xenoblade. Eat an asshole.

When we die, all that plastic shit we hoarded ends up being someone else's problem.
Goods have been devalued. 99% of what we own is worthless. Guess where it's going?

The only thing I have from them is the soundtrack for Kero Blaster on CD, but I bought that secondhand so I guess it doesn't really count. Always thought something was off about them since they claim they're for game preservation yet only press limited amounts of shit.

I've gotten a couple of games from them with no issue, but I only got the standard editions, so I don't know if that had any effect on the process. I'm sorry they've screwed over so many people
