Yes, it's really unfortunate she decided to give us this bit of information. Normies aren't going to read "I cut myself to get out of work" as "Conditions are terrible", but as "I'm insane". And thats how you ended up with a fucking email program that doesn't allow custom folders or filters, from Google. Labels don't count as it all dumps into the inbox anyway, and there's no automation for anything to move them in there. Most useless fucking shit.

Microsoft only avoided it by having so many legacy users paying big bucks that it was in their best interest to leave the old shit in place less they risk losing a hundred million dollar software contract somewhere.

That's why I hold that peak user experience in desktop environments was reached in the Windows 7 era. Its all been downhill after that.

Phones have gotten easier to use, but at the cost of everything else.

Fucking hell man, I remember being taught this thing thinking 10+ years ago. This was right before the vile and distilled evil words "User Experience" became common parlance. I refused to take UI designing because I could detect something was up with the prevailing mentality.

VBA, especially behind Excel, is an absurdly powerful tool, and being able to automate any of the Office apps from inside any other Office app is incredible. Sure, automating Excel can be slow if you use it the way it seems like you're intended to, but nothing comes close to VBA anywhere if you know how to use it that isn't in a specialized, incredibly expensive tool. The fact that VBA is such a broad tool is amazing. For the price of single seat of one of SAS's less powerful programs like JMP, which just does data analysis, you can get a handful of seats of Office. And it's even more powerful combined with Visual Studio, which for a lot of users is free and there's a good argument for it being the best design environment ever put together.

How a company capable of making so many amazing things can do so many fucktarded things boggles the mind. Everyone loved Clippy the Office Assistant.

That's why Windows 7 still is has best OS UI ever created, not even the current MS engineers want to accept the old retired MS engineers already got some things right before they even finished college.

Windows 7 was indeed the peak. The absolute pinnacle. For personal reasons I would choose the Windows 2000 iteration of the UI because it is less cosmetically elaborate, but this is splitting hairs. Windows 8 was bad, but with some fuckery could be fixed.

Windows 10 is a disaster of low iq retard that shouldn't own a computer handholding, and Windows 11 is an abomination. An atrocity.

Speaking of Office, I'm not thrilled with it. Outlook specifically, when your inbox gets into the 10s of gigs is just slow an untable and a total piece of shit. I do not like the UI they introduced in 2013 and they keep fucking with it in subtle ways what make me want to pay some body to drive to redmond and shit in every desk drawer in the building where their ui shitheads work. That being said is is not even in the same class as GOOG's trash. It's a serious piece of software. GOOG products (muh sheets) are basically an IQ test. If someone uses them of their own volition, they are a certified mongoloid and nothing they say or do matters.

All this being said, Office 2010 was perfection in software form. Windows 7 and Office 2010, match made in heaven never to be duplicated.

Yeah, she seems like the peppy sensitive slightly autistic type. The type to replay jokes her colleagues made weeks ago over and over again in her head.
