I'm guessing that they probably mix the powdered remains of multiple hard drives together too.

maybe i'm just a retard, but is it really feasible to do anything if you never recover other pieces? wouldn't scattering dust into the wind or mixing it into water be more effective? just remove anyone's ability to even ever collect it, if that's your goal. grind off all the gold and shit? maybe an electric sander until it's a fine green, black and gold mix?

As much as I enjoy a-logging Linus and almost everything he's involved with, he can't be held responsible for his employees' extra-curricular activities, no matter how much he tries to intrude on their personal space.

That being said, if more nonces are uncovered at LMG, then that tells me something's even more wrong with their corporate culture than previously thought. Considering how shitty this culture appears to be, that prospect is deeply disturbing.

Not the one I'd have put money on being outed first. No, not Anthony either, he's absolutely a degenerate but he probably knows how to use the Tor browser.
I was sure Jake would be first. Either way it's clear the Canadian police need to seize all the LTT harddrives to make sure nobody has any encrypted zip files laying around.

A study I've seen suggests wiping the whole drive twice with noise from /dev/random and then putting it on a shelf (under your physical control) somewhere in case you want to use it again. If you're paranoid or whatever was on there is highly sensitive you do the random wipe and then just smash all the chips and then there's no getting anything back.

If I had a hard drive that I really didn't want anybody finding out anything, I'd take that thing to a bench grinder. Can't recover anything from a bunch of metal shavings.
