Its just a joke guys. I just like the colours!

It looks like the tan on his body is too big though? Unless that's his snout and the body is obscured behind the flag

It very well maybe though, it's just he has a huge collection of funkopops and other crap, so I could believe it's some other animated character
Yeah it's Bluey. Looked like the plush was holding something, and after a quick Google search, lo and behold:

Linus shows up in the new Veritasium video
ah yes, a Veritasium / LTT cross-over episode. YouTube is totally not a wasteland, I promise. Cross-over episodes are the best!
Thoughts on the crossover episodes:
  • Linus looks as unknowledgeable as he truly is. I'm surprised he used the term "phone phreaking" ... kinda wonder if someone told him to use that before hand. A lot of this stuff is more scripted and less organic as we would think (such as the phone call they intercepted; they had to have planned that ahead of time. Who the fuck calls people anymore?)
  • Going beyond the Linus peace: everyone in tech/telecom/security has read in nearly ever paper for at least five years that SMS shouldn't be used for 2FA. It's the reason some (a few) older, more aware Github/Python devs hate GitHub and Pypy right now. They forced OTP 2FA. It is the best option. It is also the only option. Supply chain attacks are serious, and publishing a bad package to PyPy/GitHub/Npm can get you into a lot of places. (Maybe I should cross-post this on the open source software thread?)
    • side-note: a lot of companies use Okta for single-signon. There are open source alternatives like KeyCloke (RedHat) and Shibboleth (used mostly by universities), but they're difficult to implement. Expect Okta to be the next CrowdStrike)
  • In the video at ~7min, we hear the story of Princess Latifa of Dubai and how she was tracked in 2018 by some mysterious telecom inside the US. It's just left there. No eloboration, nothing. Why? Because of the grim relaity that the UAE has access to internal telecom networks in America. So does Mossad. So does MI6. ... probably China and Russia too. America probably has the same amout of NSA resources dedicated to monitoring China and China has on the US. They might all be paying millions to the same companies. Let's just face the reality that every State, even ones we wouldn't think of being that advanced as far as intellegence, likely have fingers in each others networks. They have to in order to not get toppled by the EU/US/UN/UK/NATO.
  • At some point Vertasium mentions how the EU mandated car modem tracking in 2018 (if your car has an SoS button, it has permanent moible carrier tracking)

I downloaed this video to my local archive. It seems faily YouTube safe by avoiding the more dangerous topics and focuing on older known exploits, but I think it might cover a bit too much and will likely be made private or removed in the future.

Overall, an okay crossover episode. The Linus part is (thankfully) forgettable. It makes him seem like a valued participaten when he's really a faggot. His wife is probably not a part of the script, and therefore does the right thing when she seems to be getting a scam call. Or maybe she just hates him? Dunno, don't really care. The bigger questions are left open. I have a feeling Veritasium knows what he's not allowed to talk about on YouTube, but finds ways to do so anyway .. but you have to go beyond what he's saying.

To stay on topic, you'll never get this type of reporting out of Linus ever. Dumb fuck was 100% quadrooped masked in 2020 and doesn't understand tech at above the level needed for consumer trash videos.

Who the fuck calls people anymore?
Me and a lot of people that I know still calls other people, while it reduced a lot from a lot of years ago, at least every other day I call someone.

UAE has access to internal telecom networks in America.
Honestly, my take from it is that with a couple of grand anyone can use the SS7 network as they want, everyone knows the government has access to it but it's a different story when anyone can have it too.

The way those things are all in boxes makes me think of those freaks who fill their garages with unopened boxes of old toys. I bet he believes they’ll be more valuable in a couple of decades, rather than just more plastic in a landfill.
I mourn the inevitable day in the future, when boxes of unopened Funko Pops become a staple of estate sales across the country (overtaking the equally as hideous, yet still hoarded by delusional collectors, Precious Moments bisque figurines).

Linus shows up in the new Veritasium video, what stood out was Linus calls Yvonne twice.
First call she blatantly disrespects him and hangs-up, second call she has no regard for what he has to say and abruptly ends with a "ok bye"

Link
Are you retarded or just purposefully misrepresenting what happened? He called her and talked like a shitty voice clone, of course she's going to hang up immediately.

Sad admitting the life I live; my boss and other work people call me more than anyone else. Granted I do have friends and we call and talk, but it's only when something important is going on. Otherwise we text each other small dumb shit back and forth. Still not uncommon for the one phone call a week I get is my boss reminding me to finalize my time card; and if not that, then it may be a couple of weeks. I'd honestly prefer more phone calls, just, not sure how to approach it; I have nothing to talk about and am even worse at trying to make friends.

This guy actually owns not one, but two Belle Delphine keyboards.

Not to mention the literal Funko pop wall, that's just too predictable...
I always thought Anthony would be the LTT employee who would get busted for CP and for everyone to find out that Linus knew all along, but nah, it's 100% this guy.

Wow.
So this guy does not own a single fan screw or a fucking hammer and is in debt,
but he does own this:

And These limited edition coomer keyboards:

Also didn't even bother dusting off his shit when his boss comes around with his 16 mil sub youtube channel.

The only thing not awful about this was a cat.

This person is like a parody of the consooooomer meme.
Allegedly married, but with this shit around, its probably to a tranny.
This is so bad it makes Linus look like a well adjusted human being in comparison.
He's 100% raping that poor cat.

Just FYI it's Keycloak not KeyCloke. If you're looking for an alternative that's simpler to implement, I recommend checking out Authentik. It supports OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, RADIUS, LDAP, and SCIM as both a provider and source. You can have it as a go-between bridging multiple identity sources together, or a source of truth using its own internal directory.

It's not overly complex to setup as the non-clustered installation uses Docker compose. My experience is most companies use Azure AD (now Entra ID) with an on-premises connector syncing users and passwords from Active Directory into it. One place I worked at used Okta with AAD and it didn't work well at all. OneDrive especially never worked right and I think it's a deliberate effort from Microsoft to sabotage their competition.

Everyone already pointed out the relevant stuff with the Elijah upgrade; but what the fuck are those jelly bean polkadot things on the door? Why?!

I also think Colin is my new favorite on camera person; Dennis isn't around to spread chaos and Dan is too competent (and a furry) to be enjoyable, big ups on the Cappucino though, can't get those in the USA. From what I can tell, he mostly just stands there and doesn't say a whole lot, my man.

The one thing I'll give Elijah, outside of mocking Linus's design timeframe, is not wanting to break up a collectible set (the Belle Delphine Mouse and Keyboard). I hate people like Linus who part shit out, keep everything together or fucking die.

Hasn't Okta had the exact same security breach at least twice in the last year? I just know that my company was all set to dump them at some point, but them someone whispered in an exec's ear and suddenly the tune changed and we stayed. Our security department was pissed.
