you seem like a pen nigger. what are your thoughts on caran d'ache?

Thought about getting a Caran D'Ache, nearly pulled the trigger, but ended up getting a Montblanc JFK rollerball instead. Currently using the Rotring (pen & pencil) when out and about / outdoors / marking up DIY stuff. Then a Lamy 2000 Multi Pen & Montblanc Starwalker rollerball for general use in the office etc. The JFK edition stays at home.

The JFK edition is the one that writes back and to the left, isn't it?

A decent WAN Show just for info dumps, as the first 50 minutes almost is just talking about them needing to move or expand again. It's clear Linus is trying to suck his own dick because, in his own words, "he's a rare business owner at his age of this size" so only boomers can relate, and he saved so much money buying 3 buildings originally for one million when each one is almost 2 million each, but there's nothing in the BC area that works in terms of locations without much more money.

They also launched a microfiber t-shirt, and are doing a wait-list for the Commuter Backpack. This will take the place of the regular backpack as they are no longer using their original backpack supplier due to the lie about the double layer bottom, so I'm guessing it will be around the current $250 range, maybe up to $300. Linus did mention to date they sold 249 Luxe Backpacks (at $600 each), and sold 125 "Luke Nukem" t-shirts, which was one of their least sold items.

Maybe they should sell some "dick suckem" shirts.

There is no way that they don't do work outside of youtube because there is zero reason for them to need to expand and move - hell they could probably cut staff and not feel it. I cannot imagine that youtube and merch is enough to keep funding these multi-million dollar moves. Are they funded by the canadian government?

What do you even say at this point. Hey Linus, maybe you should complete your 10 unfinished projects first.
He's spent so much money trying to keep up with GN and still has nothing to show for 99% of it. Wheres your sound chamber, linus? How about those PSU tests? I'm sure the 3 things labs has put out has been worth the investment.

subs flat, watch time down 2.4%.

You can bet your ass linus' begging for taxpayers money on every occasion he has, but even without that he'd be doing alright. Selling your soul is quite profitable. If i recall correctly JayzTwoCents was offered $100.000 for shilling EKWB for 4 videos, and while his channel has like 4 milion subs he doesn't pull insane views. Meanwhile LTT's videos hover around 1mil-2mil views and usually have 2 sponsors per video, not to mention situations when the whole vid is sponsored. And when your fanbase is big enough merch sells like crazy. Their overpriced screwdriver has over 8000 reviews on their site, which is insane.

Why? Staffing-wise they aren't growing. Unless their staff are physically growing beyond the capacity of the building, but with the shedding of Anthony recently, I would've thought that'd buy them at least 3 desks worth of space.

The peak number of staff I saw since monitoring began (2023-08-31) was 93, which was last observed at 2023-12-05 as they sacked some pajeet Social Media Coordinator the next day. Beginning of 2024 was relatively quiet with only a couple people sacked as well as a couple new people starting and by June 1 they had 90 staff listed on the page.

Between June 1 and now has seen that number reduce to 79 and they have not added a single new person.

Sets and parallel productions, maybe? But I can't imagine it'd be worthwhile to spend untold millions and a huge disruption in production to just have more total sets, over just using more multipurpose or quickly reset options inside of what you already have.

Could be that internal teams are bitching about shared spaces and want more isolation from other teams, but again that's just not even close to worth the total costs.

He constantly says he has "over 100" employees now on the podcast whenever referring to his company's expansion, so I'm not sure what's up with the official count. I know he doesn't include Floatplane employees on the LTT staff page, but he does include Creator Warehouse employees there. So idk

Maybe Linus is counting contractors and casual staff as part of his over "over 100" minions employees.

Perhaps he's counting his badminton moneypit in his staff numbers.

I don't see how he needs more space when the Labs, the new building he bought last year, still looked like it had almost half the warehouse available for any merchandise storage or even cubicle monkeys to sit somewhere. One thing he does keep mentioning, and has been, is parking at their current location is horrible, people have to park on the side of the road, which seems to be something BC allows in his area, but is something not even available in newer (larger) office spaces. In typical liberal fashion, the governments there think they can just force people to take public transport to their jobs, and will just limit any other forms of transportation to make this goal possible.

It looks like this hasn't been reported here yet, but the CompTIA A+ certification video that Linus uploaded the other week has been scrubbed from the internet. He removed it from Floatplane as well as changed the YouTube upload to private.
That video was pretty tame. Crazy to think how sanitised LTT must be to operate as a large organisation in this space.

Floatplane employees on the LTT staff page

Luke stated several times on Wan Show that FP team is less than 10 people with him, which is probably why FP doesn't grow up a lot. I'm still mad at LTT in general because of that, with Linus influence, FP could be a pretty good alternative to patreon/subscriber star and even youtube premium but they stopped improving the platform after they reached the MVP

Lets get real, the name itself is stupid and nobody will switch to it. In no way does "floatplane" denote a video sharing platform.

As a contrast to Floatplane look at what Pepperbox has done in a relatively short time.

Someone found they were doing some corporate training / product training videos.
They do get tax breaks its been mentioned before I think.
All there videos are pretty much ad fests in some way (from sponsored product inserts) so they get money from that, ads on the video and the inserted spots they put in every video too. Their content is so heavily ad infested, paid for shill trash its gross.

Yep, I cannot think of a single video that was made from something they bought and not sponsored.

Releasing a dangerous video like this
If the meat hook abortion Linus and Co created didn't push someone away from trying this then they probably would have drank gasoline and died within the next year.

Jesus fuck I didn't know this was a video he made. I knew he was fucking stupid but I didn't think he was fucking braindead. Good fucking lord these influencers are genuinely fucking stupid to the highest degree. The worst part is people will be braindead enough to think "Oh cool fun family project. I'm amazed at how he hasn't killed anybody yet with his dumb electrical projects. If someone dies from this then I'm not sure his money will help him.
Who the hell sees a ripped apart PS3, bare voltage divider, and a life span of fifteen minutes and thinks fun family project?

I return to what I have said in this thread, every car mechanic channel on YouTube teaches people to do something that, when fucked up, puts multiple lives at risk. No one expects them to put five hundred warning signs up because that is the expectation of nigger cattle and "Urbanists". Linus makes the damned thing, shows it sucks, and it dies. If only it were an analogy for his media company.

How about those PSU tests?
They have a separate channel for that. Assuming the test equipment is calibrated, which it should be for at least a few more months, it's pretty good info. Would prefer it in written format instead of AI voice but it's there.

I can only imagine he wants to bring more of the warehousing of their tat in house. Isn't most of Labs still empty?
