Is it worth joining the Ratchet Screwdriver Master Race? I can see how one of those would be handy to keep in the car in case of emergencies, especially as it'd take up way less space than a full screwdriver set.

Tell me you never listen to commercial radio without telling me you never listen to commercial radio. The "Total Chools" voiceover guy is the new Frank Walker IMHO.

Meanwhile all the non-Ausfags are scratching their heads wondering wtf I'm on about.
If you want an emergency set for your car, the mid tier tool box kit from harbor freight might be a better deal. It's around $30-40 depending on sales and comes with a socket set, screwdriver and various bits, spanners, and more. That's way more practical than just a screw driver set. Most bolts are a mix of hex, torx, etorx anyway.

I wish we had Harbor Freight down here. Seems like they have so much reasonably priced cool shit all in the one place, whereas down here we'd have to visit three different stores to get the same range of cool shit (whilst being distracted by way too many other things in the process).

Oh yeah it's a burgerland special I guess. It's a nice place to find cheap, but not necessarily bad tools.

Harbor freight is great, especially for things you arent going to use much and dont mind buying cheap. I have one of these $10 sets and a #2 phillips and its all i need 95% of the time i'm screwing something.

Plex runs like shit on game consoles and goes insane if your library isn't exactly how it likes it. Problems I've had with Plex:
  • endless buffering on lots of HD movies, the higher the bitrate the worse it gets
  • misaligned episodes in TV series: like, Plex might treat episode 6 as episode 5, and so on. This happens ALL THE TIME if your show has a two-parter, and your copy merges that two-parter into one long episode, or vice versa, depending on however it's set up in Plex's database
  • if your show is just one giant folder with hundreds of episodes named sequentially, Plex will just treat everything like it's in season 1, and cut your list off after 100 episodes
  • if your show is sorted by release year and not season, Plex treats those years like season numbers, and assigns generic episode titles instead of just whatever the file name is (this applies to game shows, video podcasts, youtube, anything without traditional episode names)
  • Can't just have a miscellaneous folder to throw all your one-off episodes
  • lots of pull-the-power crashes on the PS3 version
I wrestled with Plex for quite some time and eventually just gave up. VLC on Xbox can play videos from a network share and that works well enough for me.
plex was amazing before they collabed with tidal and imdb and all this extra shit that i didnt need in a htpc.

you have to use tvdb naming and then sort your library between airdate and dvd order, its a pain the ass especially if you get a giant library. you cant change the metadata on your phone have to use a pc; emby lets you change metadata on your phone.

Speaking of Emby, the jelly fin ui looks like it, is it just open source emby?

I did some basic stuff with it (mounting smoke detectors, some 'puter shit) and it's alright but I don't think it's worth the money if you're just a regular person.

6 of one .. 1/2 dozen of the other.
You can go for the non ratchet version.

I use this a lot.

While I'm on the big green shed this little number is a total winner for 10 bills. Stubby is definitely more suited to computer work. Grab a little box of specialty bits you're out of there with change from a twenty.
I ran one for a few years till Mr Gearwrench moved in.

Yes I have absolutely no shame slotting Trojan next to Snap On ect in my tool box.

I do advise though avoid Craftright like a fat chick avoids exercise.

we do live in a #2 phillips world but the old saying 'better to have it & not need it than to need it & not have it'. Those flex extensions are fucking great too.

Docker is for when you have a server build running it so you can easily add specific functionality such as a media server or Pi-Hole for ad filtering etc etc, all you need is to download the Windows binary and install that.
Just scroll down to the bottom to find the Windows section.
Did it, got it up and running about a week ago, it's pretty great.

Archive is still processing will include once its done.

Someone please teach Linus to read graphs and numbers...
This is too retarded especially for someone making a living on YT
Christ, did this mongrel focused purely on a slight uptick at one moment and finds it as a win, even though at this slight uptick the total view trend started falling off even more? Also, why does he care about this so much? What a fucking minmaxing control freak. He seems to be focusing more on playing the algorithm rather than, you know, actually making good content like the rest.

While we've been gone, and I'm too lazy to link them, Linus did more ridiculous stuff to virtual console his home both with the kids PC room (couldn't use a VC for 5 people so built PCs) and a new ASUS monitor which involved Level One Techs, both videos getting to the point where it's no longer just flexing his money but doing such stupid things in the stupid pursuit of a clean setup that it's going to bounce back hard on him. And it feels like the new guy Dan is finally reaching a fed up level internally with being the guy who actually has to accomodate Linus and Jake's faggy

He also ran some fiber optic cable from his one warehouse to the new one on the other side of the business park, but ran it through the bushes behind the offices. For some reason I feel it will be vandalized soon, and vandalized often.

On WAN show over the weekend Linus acted like the Nvidia dick sucking leaf he is, saying AMD hasn't made a good graphics card in years, the comments point out the RX580, 5700XT, and the new 6800-6900 being good competitors at their respective times and prices.

He deleted that tweet because the replies were calling him out:

It was archived in time though.

The opposite, he's saying that changing the title to one that actually had the name of the product in it caused a decrease in views, but he ignores that the slope of the line is similar on both sides of the "inflection point", which means that the clickbait title had no effect.

That's how I can tell he's never actually done any Sys/NetAdmin type work in the real world. Too many moving parts, too many points of failure, you'll need a team to troubleshoot and do any work in a decent time frame, and it's your home... And you're a millionaire... Just setup an active directory network share for every member of your family, and use a sandbox solution for your children's friends.

I wonder if/when there's also going to be AMD $5000 "upgrades" done to set ups that are usually already pretty killer.

Effectively yes, Jellyfin is an open source fork of Emby after Emby went proprietary.
