Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
There's a good chance that Linus and his dimwit staff are getting misled by their Chinese manufacturer. "We added extra stitching for your product to make it even more robust to ensure a high-quality for your customers" - and it's literally just pointless crap that's cheap and easy to do and has no practical purpose.
Reinforced stitching is just just more stitching. On a regular sewing machine if you want to reinforce a seam you just go back and forward over that part a couple of times but there are other methods and patterns to use*. But I am not familiar with industrial sewing.

I took a look at the image and the reinforced stitching looks like a tight zig-zag using a thicker thread. I marked what I guess is the pattern and the direction. I don't understand what the two reinforced stitching lines are supposed to do though.

*I also marked another kind of reinforcement below, the x in a square, it's very good and very common for endpoints as it acts sort of like a textile brake if it starts ripping. Don't think that's the right word for it but that's the term I know. It takes up a considerable amount of space so it's not suitable everywhere but that footprint bonds the materials together(sort of like a multiple points of failure stitching).

Worth noting that Linus Media Group isn't actually the entity fulfilling the purchase if you buy from the LTT Store. It's a wholly separate entity called "Creator Warehouse Inc."

Apparently this is done for tax reasons

My thought is that while Linus is obviously not personally liable for anybody's warranties, it turns out neither is LMG. "Trust Me, Bro" warranty looking as good as ever when Linus could pull the plug on Creator Warehouse and fuck his customers overnight even with a formal warranty policy.

I am no psychologist but its probably related to him being obese.(You do tend to feel worse and less confident in your abilities the worse you look)

vid in question
Late, but I'm catching up on a few pages. Honestly one of the only cures of anxiety is "doing the thing", or exposure therapy.

This part is what makes me believe that Linus is constantly struggling with his "good guy to the consumer" persona versus his "being a competent business owner who has the company's interests in mind"

Even if the spinoff corporation was just done for tax purposes, there's no way that the shielding of Creator Warehouse fulfilling the orders hasn't ever crossed his mind.

This is so dumb, by saying the llc only exists for tax reasons he’s opened himself up paying the tax and then using this own words as the reason rather than just saying it was what was best for the company.

At the very worst, that public as fuck tweet could be used in a lawsuit to pierce the corporate veil (dont know how Canadian law works) and have Linus or LMG be directly liable for any possible civil liabilities in the future. At the very best, it's another log to burn in the ever increasing bonfire that is the public trust in Linus and LMG.

That "content" is fucking abhorrent. You put yourself through it voluntarily? Thank you for your service and for reporting back your findings.
Once you reach a high enough autism level you learn pretty quick how to skip trough content and only take the funny bits. It was pretty much look at text arrow down repeat.
I'm not going to try and look up Madison's stuff but how badly did you fuck up to owe $12,000? Even leaf country can't be that gay with taxes to fuck their people over that hard.

Turns out she just didn't pay any tax at all. How have you never done taxes until you are 22 years old?! :story: The mind boggles at the level of privilege certain people have in their lives.

Speaking out of turn, but that twat strikes me as a daddy's girl who knew she was too ugly to be a little princess. So either daddy paid her way, or daddy did her taxes for her.

Is Canada so gay that if you have video of someone running right into you across lanes they can't be held liable if you can't read their licenseplate? They're made to record proof and back up the driver, this obsession makes Linus seem more ridiculous. No shit cheap Amazon shit all has Chyna guts.

I found a post from Linus on the LTT Forums that sheds more light on the tax credits

Pretty silly that you can get around those limits so easily by incorporating a new entity but Canada is retarded so it's not surprising.

Also I had a look at some of Linus' more recent posts and holy shit

His own forum janny just nuked him from orbit. Amazing!

Please be patient, I have autism.

Nick Light is the COO apparently! But LMG is such a ghetto operation that it seems to be a fancy title for the helpdesk whipcracker.

1200 tickets is absolutely brutal. During my helpdesk days, I temp'd at a place that had ~1800 open and even with 16 people, it took months to clear the backlog.
LMG has 2 CS people

Good luck to these guys. The queue is going to be apocalyptic when (if?) those backpacks start shipping and if Linus had any sense, he'd be hiring more CS people right fucking now. To Linus' credit, they do have an open CS position:
View attachment 3584087
A bit of a bizarre ad. CS jobs are usually sitting on your ass but they want you driving around picking shit up? Do the logistics guys basically use the CS guys as couriers? No wonder they can't get shit done.

Having your boss delegate jobs to you via Twitter sounds like absolute hell and it's unbelievably unprofessional. How the hell does Linus tolerate his monkeys acting in this manner?

1200 tickets "most of them from the last week" and that's just an average week given the backpacks won't ship until late September. They're either shifting mad volume or they're fucking up big time.

Graph time!

Oh dear. I guess it would've been good to have a formal warranty policy, eh? CSV attached with dates parsed this time.
Your companies reps handled 2.8 tickets/worker/workday? I think LTTs guys might do better than that.

Well we had to take phone calls and had new tickets flooding in like crazy as the event that precipitated the high demand was still ongoing (and in fact getting worse). The act of onboarding so many people all at once (of that 16, 12 were contractors who were all hired within the space of 2 weeks) is also an example of making things worse before they get better. We were admittedly very slow to get anything done for a while thanks to that.

Maybe it won't be so bad as CS on dodgy bags and screwdrivers is easier than telling users to reboot for the 100th time that day but it's easy for him to make the same mistakes and end up with an enormous backlog that 2 people (who are busy being errand boys for the logistics team) can't handle.

I didn't think about incoming tickets until i hit post reply. Your situation sounds like all of kinds of fucked up.

I asked a mate in support about how quickly they handled tickets and they did backlog of over a thousand with five people dedicated to only backlog in about three days. Over ten people total. At least their management realized they needed dedicated manpower to chew through it quickly.

That's pretty normal business shenanigans tbh. A separately filed company is a separate company and no one tends to look too closely at how intertwined various entities are. I would be shocked if each vertical (LMG, Creator Warehouse, Floatplane, whatever the company name that he does corporate and side job work under ect) wasn't its own separate thing renting out space from the Linus Media Real Estate holding company.

You do it that way 1) for the obvious tax benefits 2) if one slice shits the bed, it doesn't take out the entire company. Its already spun off, so just shut it down.

Its what makes the sperging about "this lifetime warranty could mean my family is on the hook for generations" shit stupid: the legal shielding his company has not only mean will his family not take the hit, his overall company won't take the hit. Just the merch side of things. That would then be "liquidated", sold off (at pennies on the dollar) to a newly spun up "Youtuber Shack" who LMG recently signed a contract to produce merch for, and wouldn't you know it they already have the stock available and ready to go

At around 1:53 Linus uses and angle grinder to cut in to a bunch of DVRs to retrive a harddrive. Now that isn't really funny persay but the incompetence of his engineering crew made me lol.

That to me looks like the 2680-20
dfsadfasdfasdasdasd.PNG
dfsadfsadfsaasdasdasd.PNG

That looks like the old homegamer version of their real cordless angle grinder. Not brushless and complete fucking ass in build quality. I have returned that particular model 3 times, if you lay any pressure on the clamshell while cutting the back bearing will melt in to the plastic and ruin the grinder. Which you have to cause its just not very strong and dosen't spin very fast. The greenchip above the stator has also melted down on some of the guys a couple of times runing the electronics inside. If you are in the market for a Millfucky grinder go with the FSAG125. Only had one break on me and that was after 2 years of heavy use. (Might not be the exact same model as the one i had but it looks completly the same).

People in the coments where saying that he was using a grinders disc instead of a cutting one but that just looks like what we call navelrondell. (God knows what they call it in english) Some of them can cut metall but most of them are just used for grinding. But those who are made for cutting want 12-14k rippems. Why in gods name you would put a possibly 3-7mm disk on a low power grinder. The poor little guy can hardly grind in the first place and now you take away most of its power by putting a big ass disk on it.

Linus technique isn't the worst i have seen its abouts what expected for a techgeek. Then as the icing on the cake the guy who's head of shop offers him gloves. :story: "Oh but safety mandates, muh cut resitants tight gloves" yeyeye but we both know that wasn't what was on the table here most likely thick ass welding gloves that aren't gonna fit on his smaller then average hands.

Edit: Took a dive in to their vids sure as fuck is that terrible 2680-20
