Is there not some tech where linus doesn't sound like a 1980s phone? This shit is near unlistenable. You'd think a tech channel would have better tech if someone is gonna be remote.

48:21 Linus talks about how they've been screwing up the actual numbers in reviews of tech with their new benchmark thing when compared to other tech channels, trying to excuse how akshually having more people does not mean things become easier for producing data. That means you're beyond economies of scale. It's just interesting how Linus repeatedly brushes right up against these realizations every week that he's too bloated but never realizes (or refuses to admit) this.

Wait, did they blindly roll out their new benchmark system without comparing it to the old benchmarks? That's insane! It's standard practice to run both for a little while and make sure that they agree with each other before decommissioning the old system.

The number of people running benchmarks shouldn't affect accuracy, that is, if they're well trained and have proven their skill before being allowed to work independently.

We shouldn't expect Linus to know anything truly technical outside of his very limited expertise. I suspect that he only knows about about to build computers, servers, etc. Any serious lab has internal standards on how to run a particular test. A brand new hire right out of school can do it, but a senior level person would review. This is where I expect Gary to step in and be the head of engineering. Two different test methods MUST be compared before you switch over or decide to use both for some reason. Linus should not ABSOLUTELY NO SAY on how testing is to be done.

As I mentioned before, Steve's team at Gamer's Nexus misses some basic shit. I have no faith in LTT Labs.

This video is such a clusterfuck. It jump cuts so hard from building a computer to the 2 spastics pissing around with a self built induction forge. It does not even fit in with this video series at all. It is like they had to include it because nobody is watching/paying for that floatplane bullshit. It is not even a good forge, i have some nobody in my sub list that made one about a year ago and it is much better. Then there is nothing to the rest of the video accept building the computer and them sitting on a couch to the sounds of test tones from his overpriced soundbar. It feels like they could not film the whole place they were in either. Also the fucker lives in a pig stye. The other video's at least give that lifesyle run down about the owners personality. All i know about him, is that he heats up metal "to make swords". I am sure Masamune will be jealous of his skill as a blacksmith. What is worse about it, is that the interesting computer build, is not shown at all. They don't show him bending the copper pipes. Just unboxing it and mentioning that he has already bent the pipes off cam.

I wish Linus paid for that faraday cage and then got ghosted but it seems he got the thing for free (minus it being the wrong model and left in the back alley). And that recent tech upgrade had all sorts of weird things that raised eyebrows for me, as though everyone in charge just didn't want to do it so it was left to some new hires. They also used that shitty "partner" tag for the guy's girlfriend.



They did a livestream computer build based on rolling dice for the parts, which was an interesting idea and a decent time killer on another tab, but it was clearly a way to clean some inventory and they changed a fair amount of stuff because no one did diligence to check things, and it would have been better to just make it work no matter what. It got really annoying when they put out a big 49" Samsung G9 monitor, it was picked, but some dickhead from the Labs wanted it for his desk so Linus re-rolled to get something else. The challenges or risks weren't even that bad.

Grabbing that video I noticed on the LTT channel they separate the videos from the live streams, which is stupid. Videos in chronological order, simple as pie you dumb fucking leaf.
