Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

That video was frustrating because now he has all this wire being run and hidden with cheap white plastic or trying to run on the molding, it's so after the fact it comes across like your grandparents trying to modernize their home with fancy new things but they just said fuck it.

Let's not forget the faggot has a super home theater 20 feet away, and can just go listen to stuff there, just put the longest soundbar you can in front of the TV (maybe with a subwoofer in a corner) and call it a day.
He "had" to "upgrade" because his networking situation is so cluttered that his wireless speakers wouldn't work. I would love to see a scan of airspace in his house with those 200 "smart" switches and other "smart" devices. He apparently designed his tv area to have a soundbar, but brushed off why he chose not to go that route.

They're probably all using the same few wifi bands.

Not like there's several to choose from, or anything...

He's doubling down and bastardising Steve's "rules" to somehow be about deleting videos "if a companies' feelings get hurt." Then he alleges that GN's CounterStrike 2 benchmarks are incorrect (how?).

CS2 has a default FPS cap of 400 that you have to increase via console commands rather than directly through the settings and the top several CPUs were all hitting that and had very similar FPS at around 390-395. It got caught pretty much immediately after it went live and they were going to take it down and redo it but people said they should leave it up until the new one was done because aside from those top 3-4 CPUs it still had a lot of useful information.

His need for excess is going to be the death of him; and with how much work he's had done on his house, he would've saved a lot of time, money, and stress by sitting down with his wife, deciding what to do with every room, then fucking having it done with all the contractor work. Though to be fair, it's his fault not realizing that having more wireless traffic than an International Airport in his house would lead to massive signal loss and render shit inoperable. But if you're gonna spend a lot of money to do shit to a house you're not even moved into yet; choose wired, and get them ran through the walls, especially before you have the hired help paint over them, it's that fucking simple.

Why do you say that like it's a bad thing? I'd rather have people I know in my house than rando contractors.
A lot of reasons.

No one there was hired(in their contract) for that kind of work. In almost every country labor laws put regulations on that and says that if an employee is doing something that he was hired for and something bad happens(like getting zapped or losing a finger) it's the employer fault and he can he sued for hefty(they're very high most of the time) damages. While if was an employee hired for it, they would only need to pay for medical care.

Another thing is the lack of PPE, which he probably doesn't give to them and if something happened to an employee it would add to the fees.

The last one is that if an employee can sue, even if they said yes, to do something outside his job without proper PPE because it's against the law and that is considered abuse of power.

That's why in large corps, they don't let you do anything besides your job description

You seriously think they're working for free?
Paid or not, taking time to work on your bosses home for "work" is not a good look. Toss the employees who live in tiny shitty apartments a sponsored "$5k upgrade", then go do $50,000 of work on your bosses house. Did jake and the other employees sign up to make tech videos or film canadian this old house?

I just always find it weird how he always gets his bitch tit brigade to do his housework and just fuck things up, yet he has repeatedly said he's incredibly anal about receipts and expenses reimbursement because "muh canadian accounting laws I have to follow the rules." I wonder if the concept of Petty Cash just completely makes him autism punch his head.

One thing I laugh at is that in a year or two those white wires and plastic covers he used will start to fade, and become even more obvious all around his house.

Clarification please.
Its an official roles thing. If I hire someone as a video editor, and then they get injured doing electrical contracting that I directed them to do, then its generally the employers fault in its entirety, so open to legal action - Even if the employee feels confident about it, the employer is taking someone without relevant experience and credentials to do a potentially dangerous thing. And you cannot effectively separate "genuine willingness to branch out" from "Felt pressure to do so to keep job" when it comes to these things.

Meanwhile, if you hire someone for electrical contracting, and they get hurt doing the electrical contracting for no fault of the employer (Obvious OSHA violations etc would still fuck the employer over) then they're generally only eligible to have medical bills covered, no further damages. The employee was doing the thing they were explicitly hired to do, and explicitly knew they were going into that environment and its risks (Again, assuming no workplace violations) and so the employer is safe from additional liability.

This protects factory janitors from being expected to help with heavy machine maintenance and dangerous shit like that (Just lock it out it'll be fine bro), but its a blanket protection, and they're pretty aggressive about it in Canada. I'm pretty sure I can file a workplace complaint if its even suggested that I should do something not generally accepted as being part of my role responsibility, they're really aggressive about that shit here.

Newest AMD upgrade, rather simple, this is their customer service rep. Looks like he's got confidence issues and might be on the spectrum, braces don't help. Like all the others he has a fat wife but she does seem nice and normal. This video also shows a new PA called Colin who helps be an extra pair of hands, but he also looks relatively normal and like he's done regular exercis, so expect him to leave soon. It's just a normal, thought out use of $5,000, you might think this is fake and gay but it's one of the better ones without forced theatrics.

I wonder if that electrician that used to do jobs for him doesn't answer his calls anymore. "Fuck you, i'm not getting involved with that mess anymore."
Electricians, painters, just about everyone Linus hires he ends up shitting on because something isn't done right/to his specifications... and part of getting your house worked on is being there to direct / solve problems that pop up, like, "We don't have enough tile to do the whole floor, and the store says it's not coming in till next week." Do you tell them to wait, or tile as much as you can and just drop the cabinets on exposed floor/foundation? Ideally you'd do the former and this may be a bad example, but the point is, with as much as he bitches, he nor Yvonne did quality assurance on the work until the cameras were rolling.

As someone who worked a lot on construction shops, it's usually the later, but you don't do like Linus where he puts things there, you let the area open and without anything on it until is done.

A bit of autistic construction rambling about tiles tiles, you should never buy X amount now and extra Y amount next month. You buy everything at once with a few extra boxes. Tiles manufacturers guarantee equal size, color and thickness by batch, so if you buy new tiles after a few months, it will look the same by itself but when you set them besides the others, you will notice the difference in size, thickness and color. That variation is not that big, less than 2% but it's noticiable when you put one batch besides other

People don’t understand how well planned a good construction project is and think it’s just gangs of fat hairy guys turning up when they want.

Autism is your power in this respect.

Shocking news, his nigger-rigged pool watercooling system leaked and ruined a PC and server motherboard! Who could have seen that coming! Time to spend more money and add a "titanium heat exchanger"! For some reason they still leave the janky siliconed to hell manifold right where it can leak onto the entire rack. That silicone is going to work its way into the system and junk up the blocks. I also wonder what kind of pressures that pump is putting on the systems, it has to be pretty high; I could see a blown 0-ring or tube in the future. They have PEX outside and its not UV rated.
Some USB dock was blowing 25 amp fuses, don't know it was fixed; and one of the switches abruptly let out the smoke; this also was never explained. I think he has a power issue somewhere.

Also, linus has roped jakes step-dad into doing labor on his house as well!
