You'd be surprised how suddenly any normie gives a shit when it is a company they trust with their banking info acting scummy.I don't think the average person cares about influencers, or care that they got link jacked as long as they still got their discount.
Linus is such a piece of shit.@16 minutes in he calls linus out for knowing and not saying anything
This retard is stretching himself too thin now. He has no legitimate reason to involve himself in this. These moronic "influencers" signed a deal without understanding what they were signing (retards). Most comical is the claim that he is doing this for "consumer protection" when the majority of the Honey scam only effected brainless shills.Linus adjacent: Steve filling lawsuit against honey and paypal. I can tell you didn't watch the video. This retard is stretching himself too thin now. He has no legitimate reason to involve himself in this. It literally affects everyone who didn't advertise for Honey. Even if you never ran a single ad for them, if some person had the browser extension installed, and clicks on your affiliate link in a blog or video, Honey steals that commission. That can be anywhere from $2 to like $30 (if it's an expensive part). That's the point of this lawsuit, the Wendover lawsuit and all the rest of them. It's committing fraud against people who have never been affiliated with Honey.the majority of the Honey scam only effected brainless shills.
Ironically it's clear you didn't. He tries to argue that it hurts consumers because Joe Blow YouTuber might not be able to afford a new camera (via affiliate links) for his YouTube operation, and not having YouTube filled with endless shills "hurts consumers."I can tell you didn't watch the video.
As a consumer, you start at zero. If you have zero coupon codes then whatever Honey offers you is a net benefit. If you DID have a better coupon code, Honey wasn't stopping you.Honey would purposefully hide higher coupon codes
You said all that to just agree with me in a roundabout way. None of those are -consumers-It literally affects everyone who didn't advertise for Honey. I was on board the "lol idc" train before, but I didn't realize that such a big part of his income in the beginning came from affiliate links. I never thought about it that way. It sure does suck for people trying to get into the space if they're losing affiliate revenue through absolutely zero fault of their own! I mean, I've never used an affiliate link, 'cuz I never buy shit, like, right after watching a video about it, but I guess I'd be pretty pissed about this too if I were a kawntent kreator. It literally affects everyone who didn't advertise for Honey. So much shade being thrown at Linus early in the video without naming him. As for the lawsuit, if it was just the affiliate link switching you'd be correct. With the code withholding for certain stores that they partner with, that is likely not just something winnable, but probably criminal fraud. Rumors are that they are being investigated by the FCC and FTC for it.Linus adjacent: Steve filling lawsuit against honey and paypal. Seems like a waste of a lot of money to me.
How is playing the clip of him saying the thing misquoting him?Unfortunately I don't think Linus is taking this very well. Linus bros... I don't feel so good.

You just don't get it... Steve isn't slopping on the knob of our epic and wholesome chungus tech lord Linus. How is playing the clip of him saying the thing misquoting him?
> "Why cut out the part where Linus said that had they made a video blah blah blah people would be pissed at him?"Unfortunately I don't think Linus is taking this very well. Linus bros... I don't feel so good.

No, you knuckle-dragging retard, he argues it hurts creators, particularly small creators, that way. The way he says it hurts consumers is by intentionally obfuscating better deals and assuring consumers that they're getting "the best possible deal".Ironically it's clear you didn't. He tries to argue that it hurts consumers because Joe Blow YouTuber might not be able to afford a new camera (via affiliate links) for his YouTube operation, and not having YouTube filled with endless shills "hurts consumers."
Its funny the amount of hate GN gets on the LTT sub, they call him a drama queen and shit.Anyway, yeah, this just goes to show the difference in personality between Steve and Linus. Steve would climb a mountain, throw down a rope, and tell his fellow climbers to come on up and enjoy the view with him, while Linus is a fucking chink-loving nigger faggot who'd cut that same rope and kick snow at the other climbers because he'd lose $100 from the contract with his sponsor if someone else gets to the top of the mountain at the same time as him.
It's amazing how many people are sucking Linus's dick here. He really is just a channel for mindless tech consoomers, bros...Its funny the amount of hate GN gets on the LTT sub, they call him a drama queen and shit.
Decided to check the sub and I wasn't surprised:

You're another retard that didn't watch the video or didn't listen to the arguments presented. No, you knuckle-dragging retard, he argues it hurts creators, particularly small creators, that way. consumers will be harmed because if reviewers have less money because of paypal kikery, they will be more likely to do crap shill videos (like LTT does) instead of honest content (like GN does)You're another retard that didn't watch the video or didn't listen to the arguments presented.
40:56: "first off you're right a lot of the little guys are people like you when you started, you're certainly not
a little guy now but back in the early days you might have had a small audience and you needed a new camera or
a new microphone or something else for your studio and you made your income
on referral links or at least some income on referral links and what this is going to do is that if PayPal honey
is converting referral link payments that would otherwise go to the small guy the small guys aren't going to
survive we're going to see a less robust environment and consumers are going to be harmed by that because you're not
necessarily going to get all of the honest opinions you could get..."
tl;dr: consumers will be "harmed" because Joe Blow YouTuber didn't earn enough money on his referral links and cannot afford to buy a new camera.
This goes on, is repeated multiple times throughout the video, and is endorsed by Steve.
Try actually watching the video next time.
