Linus isn't actually heaping praise on the 4060 Ti, the title is somewhat sarcastic. But that makes it an even weirder title/thumbnail choice.
LTT for some reason seems to come out with these weird video titles and then they change them to make it more accurate a day later. It will probably be changed.

Don't get the hate for Linus in this thread though. Reilly though... he might be a nice guy in person, I don't know, but he doesn't come off that way in his videos and dear god he acts so cringe. And that mustache...! Gross. Not surprised he's been with LTT so long, if he acts this way in person it probably grates on people who aren't nerds.

Is Anthony a confirmed furfag?

This, and earlier where both of them released Asus-related videos where GN was talking about literal fraud and LTT was talking about some handheld toy are really good examples of what these channels focus on.

I think GN was planning on doing the ROG Ally review, but the motherboard issue took priority for them. Which is obviously the exact opposite of what Linus did which tells you everything you need to know about him and his priorities.

It's a way to goose the YT algorithm. Title changes re-boost your visibility after the initial burst of viewers tapers off, or something like that. I think Linus said it explicitly in a video once, but I've heard it from other creators too.

That's fine, better than the changing thumbnails from a few years back, but it's annoying that they do raw clickbait or lies at the start, then the long term version optimized for searches later.

I was promised electrical shitshow and it was not delivered. I'm MATI
He also risks a fire hazard by using a 110-to-220 convertor and plugging his industrial chilling device into it.
It's not a converter, it just connects the two legs of split phase together. Same as what happens in a load center. Looks like the thing is UL listed as well.

The adapter goes to a NEMA5-15, it's rated to 15 amps 125VAC. The load cannot pull more than 15 amps as the breakers at the load center are both 15 amps and breaker on the device is 15 amps. Things rated to 120vac generally are fine sitting at <300vac as the materials are all much the same. >300vac you have problems with insulation. Not a permanent installation mind but I would say the gallons of water he almost dumped in his house are a greater concern for him and the fact they didn't get a $6 cable that would just plug in a greater issue for LTT.
Industrial is understating it- that's the type of plug for factory grade welders. He's asking for trouble sending that much power down the pipe with no safety systems.
NEMA 6-15 may be used in a factory somewhere but most places will use a twist lock or gland end+screw terminal. It's rated to 15 amps 250vac. More of a cart top shop welder tbh. Less than stoves or ovens. Speaking of which:
One of the things when wiring homes, especially kitchens is having multiple circuits, because kitchens usually have things with motors in them, and motors pull more than other devices.
I have no idea what crack you smoked to think this. The most powerful motor in a consumer kitchen will probably be something like a top end blender, will pull about 12 amps stalled. At 110vac. Electric stove tops go to 50 amp ratings at 220vac nowadays. Ovens are generally spec'd to 30 amps 220 vac.
Smaller electrical devices like consoles have them, pretty sure PC power supplies have them.
Most have FETs with a broad enough range to not care, in fact, most switch mode power supplies nowadays won't care from 80 to 270vac. Spec'd at 100 to 240vac generally.
Otherwise he might see stuff like "Do not plug into transformer, convertor, or other device. Power must be straight 110V/220V" or something like that.
He feeds it 240. He's not using a transformer, asides the one feeding his house. Even if he was, if the voltage output and frequency are correct then it doesn't matter.

LTT apparently has multiple engineers on staff but can't be fucked to BOM up fittings, tubing, cable, and two manifolds. wtf, this is the real story, how a company whose reputation is built on a YouTube channel fuck around on said channel so much? This is thirty minutes to see a last second idea brought to failure with the only laughs the duncery of the participants.

I had the exact screen shot. The GN vid is spot on. This is crap and the 6700 is currently the same price and beats it today and into the future.

So uhh, Wade from DankPods made a short mention about Linus cuz he needs a server, and the comments are about what you'd expect, full of Linus dickriders.
I can excuse Wade for wanting a server from him since he's just a rural 'Straya boy that somehow made it into the big leagues and he looks up to the big guys on the scene without fully knowing what he's getting into, but man, those comments are just awful.

I just hope that if it does happen, Wade won't fully rely on keeping his biz running on that LTT server that'll be one disk malfunction away from a complete failure and he will have a plan B. A file server from Linus is a bear favor.

I can recall Linus building file servers for other Youtubers over the years and them pretty quickly ditching them for those expensive Jellyfish file servers. And then Linus got triggered and posted a video building a server for the same price as a Jellyfish, but with much better specs. I don't really know much about the Jellyfish servers, but I imagine they just work and you'd likely get competent technical support if something went wrong. While a Linus built server is going to be misconfigured and when the data inevitably gets corrupted, any support from Linus and his team will make the problem worse.

Honestly, this DankPod's guy should get Linus to build him server since it's no doubt going to be some over-the-top build. Then once it's delivered, have Wendell from Level1Tech's remote in, nuke the OS and set everything up from scratch so it's setup properly.

Late but I really just struggled to listen to this all week.

-the beginning is talk about the CEO switch, normal jerking off about how Linus was a pro for holding on so long even though Luke could see it was getting to him, happy to be CVO, he mentions their labs MarkBench is supposedly going along great which believe it when I see it.
-it seems the new boss was basically given a free job in the sense Linus never planned for anyone else to take the role and specifically wanted Terren, so that might lead to some interesting things down the line
-they bring up how this is a stupid oroboros, Terran as CEO can tell Linus what to do since he's just CVO, but the CEO reports to the shareholders which are Linus and Yvonne, who can tell Terran what they want the company to do. I give it a year before this creates some serious conflict both with the two and the higher management.
-1:14:52 they are doing another collaboration with Noctua, and will make LTT screwdrivers in Noctua colors.
-Dennis is still on vacation, going on 3 weeks. Big think there.
-2:43:20 a question is brought up regarding Kyle/Bitwit, feels like an afterthought which shows how hollow the youtuber world is, just generalities, some talk of maybe wanting to hire Kyle and Paul years ago, but a bunch of "yeah, he's been going through stuff, yeah."
-3:11:00 someone asks what he'd do if the CEO says no more WAN Show, Linus says he'd still do it, at this point he'd rather scale back everything else he does and just do WAN show every Friday. Seems a little defensive on this like he might have already talked about scaling back even though he said he's going to be in front of the camera more.

any support from Linus and his team will make the problem worse
uhhh what? What is that word? Su..p..p...ort?
Linus is not a company building a server. I have zero doubt the "creators" receiving the server have to deal with it themselves.

This is what I am looking forward to. Being the boss of your boss must be an amazing experience!
Add to it that they are greatly indebted with their last few high-value items flopping, they bought properties during market peak times, the much-feared recession means companies scaling back on advertisement, ... oh and the shareholders are two people, married with each other, and one owns 51% (but the other is the one that had the capital that allowed to kickstart the business). Everyone's dream workplace <3 <3 :)

I would not look too much into it. if he has to travel to Asia (and visiting family), it makes sense to only do long vacations (if your workplace allows it).
Airplane ticket is expensive, jatlag, and it takes about 2 days each way.

If this dude is in need of a server, Linus is the wrong person; because if he's not entirely tech literate and for some reason isn't able to learn everything to keep the shitbox working, he should just go with a business solution that offers support. I get wanting your senpai's attention, but if you're on an entirely different continent, you need something on your landmass at the least.

I get the feeling crossovers are some kind of strong algo-energy on the tube.

I own the electrical code, and you are required to put at least two circuits in a kitchen. I don't actually know why that is though, I guess if someone is using multiple devices with heaters at the same time (i.e. toaster, pizza oven, and griddle all at the same time). As far as I can tell it's not a safety thing, unless someone got so mad at the breakers tripping that they wired them shut.

Like two circuits of 110? I can get that with microwaves frequently going to 1250 watts. If you run a toaster oven at the same time it can trip.
Or an electric kettle/air fryer/waffle iron/blender/some other kitchen gadget.

The code seems to bring modern convenience into account, like outlet density. I see no safety related issues with low outlet density, asides from tenuous claims about 16 gauge extension cords being over used. Which, maybe? Britbongs have individually fused plugs so claims can be made towards a need for safety and the materials cost is low. Fuck stripping solid multi conductor tbh but bog standard outlets are cheap.

Considering his spec is that it plugs in and works, one cable was a sell to him mind, no home made solution will be great. Add the two location issue and your talking a self hosted personal cloud sync, over the shitty Aussie internet, or some other mystery solution.

I love my server, it's great play with, but not for those without play time. Build a backup NAS at most. Run TrueNas Scale, or ProxMox+TrueNas Scale if feeling wild. Sync that shit using some script on your laptop to write to a AFP share. Have that backed up to a cold storage service. Seems the most DankPods needs to me.

Proxmox also lets one use the server for networked rendering. At least with Adobe with additional license, not sure Finalcut.

I think they upgraded storage wise from something that Linus provided when they, iJustine and Brownie, ran out of space.
Obviously they went with the company that gave them ready to use hardware for promo rather than doing the research and showing some of the many high performance, open source solutions. This is because iJustine and Brownie are fucking cancer that belong at the bottom of the ocean. They aren't interested in tech for tech's own sake, just coomsumerism.

LTT built out a sample server with NVME flash that cost ~same and out performed the Jelly Fish in every measurable context asides from ease of use. Linus made a big kvetching about how he understood why his "friends" went with Jelly Fish. One has to give credit, he wasn't going to pass up the business opportunity of one upping them.

As for the data integrity on LTTs servers, why the shit did they only just hire serious IT people? Fucking seven figures of hardware deployed, managed by some soyjack making fart jokes and writing shit videos.

Edit: wording

Forget Yvonne, she knew what she was getting into when she married him. Worry about his children instead.
we should worry about what his elliot rodger abominations will inflict on the world

This is the first thing i thought of. Great performance from the "engineers" in the "lab" who will produce "whitepapers"

What a fucking clown.

Dankpods has a serious dickrider problem same as AVE. Everything was great when he had a small unknown youtube channel catering to some autists but now his channel has exploded and the audience if full of faggot redittors and manchildren. It does not surprise me to have redditor sodomite overlap between him and dipshit linus.

Yvonne's AMD tech upgrade finally arrived

She donated 5,000 to a children's hospital and used their own money because Linus never buys her things so spent more than 5,000. She also had Dennis help her. This is one of those videos where if you've been in a long term relationship it's relatable at the interactions and not thinking things through, but also sad that it's another confirmation women are so predesigned by modern times to have a consooomer mentality, so much shit is chyna crap and not good that even Linus' cheap chyna shit looks japanese made by comparison.

There's something that makes me very uncomfortable about people having this million dollar home access to 5-figure TVs and tech equipment, yet using the cheapest sub-Ikea stuff for furniture and kitchen. It's almost like an NPC trying to pretend it's not but hitting the wall of its programming. I'm of the mindset to live quaint but have the best stuff (which often means make your own). D-Brand could easily print whatever they want on canvas for some unique art pieces but she spent $600 on 2 shitty art pieces that were the exact same design.

Anthony has announced he now Emily and has been on hormones for over a year.
