to not piss their sponsors.
In the recent Dbrand video for the stupid switch wraps, Dbrand fucked up one of the joycon wraps and there was some bubbling. Linus went to Linus it, and David stopped him like a parent, with a loud "NO." Linus then proceeded to NOT fumblefuck the product.

I absolutely hate the schtick of Linus fumbling or breaking things most of us will never see on a store shelf, and if a new corpo daddy is taking the reins, it would be fun to see Linus get constantly stopped from doing that. Like a toddler. In a building he paid for.

Did his wife decide he's just a walking liability?
Are they trying to dodge a brewing lawsuit?

Hmph probably. She is the gatekeeper keeping complaints about him away and babysitting his ASD outbursts.

He has things to answer for. It make sense to separate him from a leadership position if those come to fruit, particularly if further outside investment is still the path they are choosing.

Speaking of dbrand, am I the only one here that thinks their company is a joke? They act like they are from the future, that it's not ran by humans but by robots, and insulting their customers is "a part of the experience". If not for the fact they've had big names like Linus promote them and explain their schtick they would've long gone under because people would feel like it's a scam, or that whoever's running the company is incompetent and hires complete assholes.

Like, I don't care how good your products are. If your company is this pretentious then I'm not willing to support you because I don't see it as being "different from the rest" in a way that's positive, but rather in a way how a store cashier that tells me "fuck off and go fuck yourself" after I'm done shopping is different from the rest which tells me "thank you and have a good day". At least Linus tries to be sarcastic when he insults his fans by selling those "Trust Me Bro" t-shirts. If he was like dbrand those shirts would say "Fuck you, Pay me".

However, having a soulless suit take over is probably going to demand a change from Linus and his stupid takes, which would tank the PR for any company looking to be taken seriously.
Hardly. Given that Linus and Yvonne still own LMG, they can effectively hire and fire CEOs as they see fit. TBH I can see the CEO quitting within 6 months because Linus is such a control freak and will probably butt in on every decision the CEO makes.

It's just vinyl wraps for cars using name brands like 3M and Avery and Arlon, just targeted at niche nerd shit which allows for a premium. They have to have a more profitable commercial line where they do stuff like vehicle wraps and signage. If they can sustain their company just on console and controller wraps they're really sticking it to the customer with such a negging attitude.

Displate is another company like this that feels like it's so niche and small in scope it has to be an offshoot for the son of the real businessman or something.

At least Displate doesn't insult their customers as a part of the brand and they don't try to act like it's being ran by robots from the future. It's all your standard decent marketing, and at least they cater to more audiences than just viewers of LTT or MKBHD.

I'd rather buy something off of Displate than something off of dbrand, slapping a cool graphic on the wall in a few minutes for an instant home decor improvement seems like a better investment than spending an hour tediously applying a vinyl wrap to some high end piece of tech equipment.

Linus is stepping down from CEO. Effective July 1, 2023. He and Yvonne are still the sole owners of the company. Linus will still be on camera, maybe even more. He will be CVO (Chief Vision Officer). Also, the Sebastians had an offer of $100 million (60% cash, 40% equity) to sell the company. Which they didn't. Also, the new CEO is Linus' old NCIX boss.
I am still convinced that the $100 million offer is a complete fabrication. Until I see hard, documented evidence, Linus is entering a phase of compulive lying on par with Melon1488.

I doubt he can sell the channel for anything worthwhile unless he signs a contract saying he'll continue working for the new owner for 10+ years. I don't think his hubris would allow for that.

That being said, seeing Alibaba Tech Tips crash and burn would be amazing.

Well I told you he was not really a Millionaire well at least not one in a traditional sense.

Lets see what happens several years from now and how far this bullshit of his will go.

Linus learns what developing new tech is like as he tries to out-perform a sponsors item.

He also risks a fire hazard by using a 110-to-220 convertor and plugging his industrial chilling device into it.
Industrial is understating it- that's the type of plug for factory grade welders. He's asking for trouble sending that much power down the pipe with no safety systems.

I've considered Displate, they have some brands I like and some youtubers I watch occasionally give out codes. That and instalation is easy: stick magnet on wall, slap on art, and you're done

You can tell despite being the Hardcore Gaymer™ that he is and other shit, he never read a manual; whether for help or just looking. Otherwise he might see stuff like "Do not plug into transformer, convertor, or other device. Power must be straight 110V/220V" or something like that. Smaller electrical devices like consoles have them, pretty sure PC power supplies have them. One of the things when wiring homes, especially kitchens is having multiple circuits, because kitchens usually have things with motors in them, and motors pull more than other devices. So Mr. Big Brain here decides to break damn near every Electricity-101 rule, and fucking puts it in his house, with wood floors and bedding... and his wife nearby. I'm trying to not be mad, but what the fuck Linus. Imagine having a warehouse with acres of floor space and electrical hookups, but you do your shit in your home.

I have taken a look at the product they are shilling. Holy shit, what the fuck.

>2500USD water cooled bed sheet thingy because changing room temperature bad
>Its literally called a "POD"
>mandatory software subscription service required for said 2500USD/2500€ watercooled bed
>288$ per year to get lifetime warranty, 180$ for no extra warranty
>Windows 11 tier software, including spying analytics and automatic updates (for a bedsheet)
Eight Sleep - Intelligent Sleep Tech - www.eightsleep.com.png

They also sell a 150$ pillow and 300$ blanket to go alongside the POD.

This is the worst product related to sleeping that i have ever seen in my life.
The floor is a preferable option because that at least leaves you with your dignity semi-intact.
Anyone actually considering this, alongside all employees of this company, should be forced to work and sleep in a coalmine for the rest of their lives.

Hey, there's a reason why the Japanese sleep on the floor, it's actually healthier for you to sleep on a hard surface. Same with them having squat toilets, it's the healthier to shit like that since you're not blocking your rectum and it's easier to shit.

15 fucking dollars, for 4 tiny pieces of silicon
I would pay that price if he released his own brand controller joysticks IF he could prove that they won't start drifting within the first month and that they can take a beating. He'd have the monopoly he wants and good graces from people by proving he can release a better product than 'Insert BRAND'

Linus isn't actually heaping praise on the 4060 Ti, the title is somewhat sarcastic. But that makes it an even weirder title/thumbnail choice.

It doesn't look sarcastic, that you're still paying 500 bucks for what's supposed to be a mid ranged GPU, it's just his regular reddit soy face. Bet some idiots bought it
