Tangentially related, but I think Charlie threw shade at Linus in his video about YouTube stopping adblockers today. Went on about how retarded people who were crusading about adblock being piracy were/are. Pretty funny.

Linus has been stagnant the past two weeks, just nothing worthwhile. Wan Show last week was 3 hours and I can't remember anything so I won't post a recap, and this week's was more a bit defensive in the beginning because they released their ASUS Ally review the same day everyone called ASUS fags for their shitty motherboards and poor quality. They didn't even release the Yvonne AMD extreme upgrade yet, I think there might be some issues behind the scenes, that shitty Steam "10 hacks" thing screams last minute video.

Not gonna search for it but on their foruns people are feeling the same, everyone is finding strange that he doesn't even comment poorly about Asus on their motherboard problems. Whilst it's refreshing that a few people on the LTT forums are calling Linus out for his contrarian position on Asus and lazier than usual videos, it probably won't stop the majority of his simps from washing his balls without question.

Asus seems to be the biggest sponsor of their convention/lan party this year if size of logo to amount of money put up is anything to go on, so that might be a big part of whey they are softballing it.

Speaking of LTX 2023, according to their safety page, they'll be folowing BC's recommendations when it comes to masks, and as of now BC says that masks aren't mandatory. Worth keeping an eye on it to see if he'll decide to go full power trip and enforce masks even if they aren't by law or not.

soundproofing the server room, it's actually fairly competent in execution. What makes it somewhat sad is they finally have a use for their labs people and 3D printer stuff, but you then realize they've done one useful thing with them while squandering the other 364 days in a year with them. Who asked for this anyways? For $15 I could order new joysticks and replace them if they somehow got damaged in my backpack (which, I can't think of the last time I traveled anywhere with a controller...). And then for portables, who doesn't have a case for them? If they were $5, sure, at that price I could see it as a tag-on item for shits. $10 is steep, $15 is absurd.

I can see it as a nice thing to have to carry something like your controller loosely in a backpack, but for like 1$ with free shipping on Aliexpress for one pair. Though given how Linus is such a nice guy that despises slave work that he outsources manufacturing to China it's only a matter of time to find the same product without the LTT logo for that price.

Linus is stepping down from CEO. Effective July 1, 2023. He and Yvonne are still the sole owners of the company. Linus will still be on camera, maybe even more. He will be CVO (Chief Vision Officer). Also, the Sebastians had an offer of $100 million (60% cash, 40% equity) to sell the company. Which they didn't. Also, the new CEO is Linus' old NCIX boss.
