With 4chan rolling out a 15-minute post timer across the entire site, it's safe to say imageboards are officially dead, displacing many people who want to discuss niche topics. Though it may seem that your only option is to go to a social media site like Discord, Twitter, or Facebook if you want to discuss things, there are still a few active independent forums that provide a good balance of high-quality discussion and freedom from the social media-ness of the modern internet. Spacebattles is better than KF because you get to read about Starfleet meeting the Pegasus, while on KF all you get to read about are terminally-online schizos getting outed as sex pests and /pol/fags whining about how nothing is worthwhile ever because da JOOS, da INDIANS, da GAYS, da TROONZ, and da WIMMINZ. The main reason I still use this site is because it's fun baiting the seriousposters here and there are occasionally good off-topic discussions geg

Xenforo's most active forum is f95zone.to. I was made aware of this thanks to @Penis Drager 2.0 linking it once a few years ago. Don't get your hopes up though. The most active xenforo forum is not just a porn, but a porn game website, which is probably one of the lamest things you can base a forum out of and is baffling that a website based on this averages around 40,000 online users a day. #weliveinasociety

There is a retarded policy that you cannot view links or significant portions of the OP without posting in the thread. So it's typical for threads to have thousands of one-word replies and absolutely zero discussion of the topic.
The money section is mostly a waste of your time. There are some services there that are "genuine" but those are mostly advertised at the top of the site anyway. It's worth giving it a look if there's software/media you're looking for.

I can't wait to settle down in my forever home so I can build a Radio scanner room and just put up those visual graph machines that visualize the audio. I don't know what it's called, I'm beyond amateur but I'll fucking learn when the time comes. Seems like a great old man hobby for when I've got more time on my hands than energy to move.
