He seems irrelevant these days. His best was good but not good enough. He doesn't have the influence that our more recent enemies do, and most of his efforts are backed with tugboat money. Even if we did sue him and win, nobody would ever hear about it.

It's in the wording they used. Their lawyers were smart enough to include "we believe" before the bit about "unprecedented emergency", taking it from outright defamation to a "statement of opinion", which is protected by the First Amendment. Meaning CloudFlare obviously spends way more money on lawyers before putting out a statement, whereas Epik just lets their drooling Xitter-jockey go crazy to the point xe/xer has opened the company up to legal liability.

There's a vast legal difference between "being mocked on twitter" and "a public company falsely stating you're guilty of a heinous crime and causing irreparable damage to your reputation, business, and ability to earn a living", which is exactly what "You hosted CP on your site" is. THAT is why they're getting sued. It's called "libel per se."

Go look it up for yourself if you don't believe me. Or just fucking 41% yourself, because you will never be a woman.

Also, Null, could you provide some way of verifying money order / cashier check receipt? Such as a public log of checks and money orders that shows the amount and last three digits of the SN (it's 11 digits). That way know to check with USPS if it never shows up.

(probably 99.99% certainty we did anyway with checks/MOs, but being able to show it on screen would be nice)
 
I donated a couple days ago when we were around the 75k goal, give or take a grand. Insane to see the fund is nearly double that already. Really glad so many people put their money where their mouth is with that poll.

I don't know how the suit will end up going, but if I played some small part in making ratfuck ISPs like Epik sweat for a few minutes, then that's the best money I've ever spent.
