I think this is an excellent idea. IDK about the rest of you but most of my emails to Josh are asking him to confirm he’s received a donation. What do you want to bet that 900 of the 1000 emails he receives a day are donation-related?

The remaining 100 are all probably seething lolcows.

The crypto is actually a very small amount overall (less than 10% by some distance). There's one person who offered a lot in crypto but we passed the goal by a while and it's only been three days, so that's wait and see.

I have no idea what to expect with mail though.

People love convenience more than anything else. If you hadn't got cash donations sorted out you'd be fucked. My bet is that mail is smaller still, I'll be happy to eat crow on that one.

I actually was going to have my bank send a check, but the name didn't fit in the on-line form and I didn't want to guess on how to shorten it. So I wrote it myself.

Any special plans for tomorrow's stream with the success of the funding? I know you're trying to keep the stream and the site fairly separate but since this is the preparations for a retard war maybe we could get a "war propaganda" or a military march stream.

Even 5% of $140k is still $7k. This, combined with the mail orders means there is a very good chance we've doubled the goal, but just don't know about that yet.

I’m actually a bit surprised that some of the “whales” weren’t tech bros who lucked into owning surplus funny money. Bitcoin is doing relatively well right now too.

But for normies, it’s a massive pain in the arse to convert from bank money, for the dubious added anonymity. For example 20% of my crypto donation got stolen in fees. So I’m not that surprised.

I just emptied an old mining account. I hadn't checked the balance in years and it was about 3x what I thought was there. I'm far from a whale but I was happy to beat the average.

Its not much but I went ahead and donated $100, considering the amount of entertainment this site has provided and the amount of shitposting I do while on the clock its the least I can do for you.

Holy shit. I had no idea we'd raise this much money so fast. It's only been what, 3 days? Good work, everyone. Now we can finally start hitting back instead of helplessly taking up the ass all this time.

Clearly. The point I'm making is that the number on the fundraiser website doesn't represent the total donated, and I think the total donated will be more than $150k if it were counted now.
