Took a hiking trip to Montana's Glacier National Park last weekend. Clean air, drinking water from a mountain stream, seeing wildlife up close, light traffic... you can't that just anywhere. Now I'm spoiled and my local nature trails will be underwhelming.

If you ever travel there, I recommend Many Glacier and Two Medicine on the east side of the park. There's more trails and wilderness, and it's less of a tourist trap.

Wish more of our tax dollars went to restoring and conserving wilderness.

I took a pause because of too hot weather for my wandering, but soon gonna resume.
Last trip was two months ago, I found a random "Castle ruin" marker on a map nearby and went to look at it. Was a nasty climb right to it and not really anything to look at, as every castle brick and stone was taken by nearby peasants over 500 years since the castle's ruination. It ended up only being around 25 km there&back.

Random pics from the trip (mostly just anything that was nearby when I stopped to drink)

Holy shit. I do remember when I was young I would go on a hiking trail just about an hour away from my city. Didn't mind the weather then but it was probably the best moments of my life when I was young. It was a very beautiful park. The hiking takes about an hour but holy shit did it feel good. When I went to Kyoto, I hiked up a sacred mountain. The funniest thing is even though it was so sacred to exclude bathrooms, vending machines are everywhere and it is often out of water. You will also find some awesome looking centipedes there.

The tallest mountain I hiked was Sulfur Mountain in Banff which is over 700m tall and it takes a lot out of me. But when you reach the summit, it is so worth it. Also, the view is absolutely amazing.
