The amount of importance they hang on a dating app gets me every time.

Well, when it's your only form of contact with the opposite sex, one would put quite a serious stress on it's importance. They of course assume that nobody else talks to members of the opposite sex.

Which is even more insane since Tinder isn't a dating app, it's a hook up app. It's like thinking the craigslist casual encounters is a good way of starting a long term relationship.
I think that they are caught up in the delusion that somehow that reflects the reprodutive success of chads in premodern society. It doesn't because the majority of sex occurs without tinder (perhaps even the majority of casual sex) and in premodern society there would be less willingness to engage in it if there was a risk of pregnancy outside of marriage and the sample is far from representative of the general population. That is also irrelevant since we are in modern society now.

Having had a look on Tinder, there's a surprising number of (mostly female) people on there who actually do seem to think it's for finding a long term partner. Which is just odd, considering the majority of the world views it as an app for getting yourself some easy sex

An interesting quote from the thread related to this video:

This happens to sub8's who think a w

oman literally saying no is "playing hard to get".

So they keep "escalating" to go past "last minute resistance" (cringe-worthy pua lingo). And the woman in these scenarios feels cornered and coerced/pressured into doing it.

The very second a woman puts up resistance OF ANY KIND, a guy should simply back off. Too risky.

Of course, women don't have this problem with Chad since he actually eases her into it. He ultimately ends up with her WANTING him to fuck her.

ALSO,

SUBLIMINAL MESSAGE: Notice the small poster on the wall, above the bed, that reads "8 ZONE". The guy's trespassing. 0__0

It's easy to just meet up for a 5 minute coffee and then meet up again later if you're both on the same page. Though it's easy to procrastinate, it never sounds like a good time to meet a stranger.

The alternative is going on okc where dudes send unsolicited 1 line spam and dick pictures, tinder people only can communicate by mutual agreement, even if it's a hookup app it's better for more serious dating than okc.

"How many guys have you slept with?... please say under 3" , "Why did you take all day to return my text... that is so rude and I will not stand for it" <--- Incels are always saying shit like this, would you want to talk to them?

There's a local website in Australia called OasisActive, renowned for being a fairly scummy pick-up website, but there is certainly a hardcore group of members looking for long term relationships. I'd preface the poll below by saying casual members may not know the poll is there and/or be bothered to click and vote in it, so it may reflect those who are more permanent members. I think the same could be said of a lot of dating websites though, there is a population of members who come and go after early frustration.

Like Tinder, people need to mutually agree to a contact request for talk to happen, similar to the boundaries of OkCupid.

Yes but also, with those sorts of polls, people want to take the moral high road, even if it involves lying about why they're there. Never trust statistics

You mean that the majority of Kiwis do want ADF to keep his balls? (:_(*yawn*

But, yeah... Dating sites don't exactly care about proper empirical evidence or data.
