Remember how back in the early 2000s, you had tons of chicks starving themselves half to death to try and emulate the models you'd see on television and advertisements, that 'pro-ana' thing? This is basically just the male version of that, just replace models on TV with male internet celebrities, and replace starving yourself with taking steroids and various other drugs. Thing is, while as the former was seen as some great societal issue that needed to be solved to the point of government intervention (like over in the UK, they made it so putting a female model who's "too skinny" on advertisements is flat-out illegal), while as with this more modern example practically no-one cares, or if they do care it's purely as a source of entertainment.
It's all fun and games to point and laugh at the retards hitting themselves with hammers to try and "bonemaxx" their jawline or whatever, but you've got to remember a lot of the people that are doing this are young, as the examples in the OP about boys being encouraged to get on HGH during puberty shows. Children are already extremely emotionally unstable and mentally vulnerable during puberty, so when they're being bombarded with people on the internet telling them they need to hop on 20 different drugs and undergo all these surgeries NOW or else they'll end up an "unfuckable forever-alone 2/10 manlet uglycel" or whatever for the rest of their days, they're going to make irrational decisions. And it's not like it's just isolated to small forums in the asscrack of the internet that no-one but the most terminally online individuals dare tread, it's bleeding more and more into major internet platform like Instagram and TikTok.
It's a very concerning trend. One I personally think is going to get a lot worse before it gets any better, I'm expecting some pretty big tragedies relating to this shit in the not-so-distant future.
