People going to a convention dressed as a favorite character to have fun is one of those things that I think shouldn't have an age limit. Cosplaying should be fun first and foremost. I don't think that someone should have to give it up as a hobby just because they reach a certain age. An older person has more money, skill, and hopefully taste to make higher quality and technically difficult costumes that fit their body. Unfortunately, tacky hoes in tiny bikinis have sucked all the oxygen out of the scene.

If you're always making improvements and actually strengthening your skill sets then there's nothing to be cringed at, except maybe the IP they chose to cosplay. You can do sexy and skilled cosplay, but now people just want an excuse to stare at women naked in public (legally). Cosplay fused with pornography in the west in a way that makes it impossible to separate now.

Holy shit, I remember her! She was definitely my role model back in the day. I remember corresponding with her back in the day asking her questions, mostly about some of her crafting techniques she used and she was nice, helpful, and encouraging. I am glad she is still doing well.
