While I can agree with the second half of this statement, I think you’re being FAR too generous with the first. The Wern would certainly want to hide his activities so that he can continue his love quest and research into telomeras. But if you really think he has the foresight to think that far ahead, then you’re crazy.

If anything, I know many people would complain about the state of mental health care in the US but look how many times Lucas has got help, took time up wasted money etc there's people out there who want to get better or at least semi functional and Lucas keeps soaking up the resources.

That's what I mean, I hate to sound A-loggy but years ago people knew he was a case of lock up and throw away the key.

They seem to do best they can keeping a tight leash on him but they can't really drop the hammer till something happens. There's no reason to sink all these shrinks meds etc on him when it's an rape waiting to happen. I get why we reformed the laws to not be able to just lock up people we don't like but I'm sure there are a dozen mental health pros who would all say he's a danger but they can't keep him longer.

It sucks when people want or need help but because how laws are written we have to just sit and wait till Lucas gets grabby.

He shouldn't have internet access, it feeds his delusions. You wouldn't let a recovering alcoholic have a beer, so why would let someone who feeds his insanity via social media to have access to it?

True. It's far more likely that the halfway house that Lucas is staying in has restricted his internet usage as opposed to him actually having any sort of restraint. That means Lucas would have to find something productive to do with his time, just like he did in the hospital. I do wonder how he was able occupy himself (without being too much trouble for staff or the other patients) while he was away.

As far as I know he was actually pretty quiet and kept to himself, almost always eating alone. Think about it, he probably just thought "I'm not crazy, all these people are crazy, I'm too smart to be here," etc etc. Why would he even want to socialize with the chemically lobotomized around him?

Do we even know what led to him getting sent away in the first place? It’s insanely difficult to have someone involuntary committed for that length of time but I’ve checked the court records and I wasn’t able to find him.

It's most likely that he's been deemed a threat to others by doing this exact same creepy shit in meatspace as he does online. I do remember that his second psych hold was due to inviting others over to the half-way house with no permission at all with steaks and so on.

My only query I keep having is what medications did they have him on while he was there, and will he have to keep taking them? He has obviously held fast to his delusions about scoring a millennial GF to eat Red Robin with, but did they try to alter his mental state chemically? Or was it just group therapy and coloring sessions?
