I too speculated he might be on the spectrum, but there are many areas of overlap with schizophrenia or schizoid disorders. Obsessions, withdrawal from society, projections, but the kicker for schizoid disorders are the voices and auditory hallucinations. The sad thing (and this is a stretch mind you), is that 25-30 years ago Lucas might have been salvageable. I am not talking he would graduate college and be a CFO, but he might have been able to hold down a job, graduate high school, retain a few friends. Maybe if he got treatment at 16 and bought in, took meds, went to therapy, his deterioration could have been slowed and maybe he could achieve some semblance of a normal life. But after the way he treated his family, and niece in particular, too many bridges were burnt. He had ample opportunities to take psychiatric help and to benefit from inpatient rehabilitation and behavioral therapy, but he chooses to be obstinate and the "Bumcel of Spokane", now Lucas is too far gone for most options, blissfully unaware, he doesn't even notice how quickly his body and mind are deteriorating. I agree with the often state point: the best things for him are either, hitching a ride with the men dressed in white with butterfly nets, or an early visit to the grave. The whole prehistory of Wernology would fill in major gaps and would be very valuable to understanding his motives. I have always wondered if he had been normal as an adolescent or if he was hyper-sexual and paranoid like he is today.
