I agree that he isn’t headed for commitment. The only way he would be is if he were a danger to himself or others, including unable to care for himself. From a lay perspective, he seems dangerous and like he’s not caring for himself well, but the legal requirements are far higher. He would have to be actively endangering himself or others and he isn’t.
Logistically, inpatient commitment is incredibly complex. It requires multiple ongoing court hearings, continued assessments, and then there’s the housing issue. Once he gets out they’d have to find him housing again and turn his benefits back on. It’s a huge process and unless the state believes there is no way to manage him outpatient, they will always go with the least restrictive means necessary.
since his mom helped get him admitted last time, i am guessing he was acting out in his housing situation and she was given the choice to take him with her, commit him, or let him be homeless. Just a theory though.

Pretty simple they are sorta inverse.
Gas lighting would be convincing Lucas he's responsible for me hitting him( a lie). Even if he's done nothing wrong.
Projecting would be Lucas calling everyone an 'ageist' while he himself has a narrow age bracket he's willing to date or every millennial is white saggy pants thug who says 'nigga' all the time cuz theyre racist secretly (He probably is more prejudiced than he likes to admit)

Thae great part is, for the most part... people don't CARE who anyone dates as long as everyone on board is a consenting adult and the relationship is healthy.

I don't think I've ever seen him in more of a manic state than he is right now. It'll be interesting to see where this goes from here, whether it escalates into him having a public meltdown or move into even more bizarre behaviors that I couldn't even imagine. More likely than that, he'll crash and mope around for weeks because he's about to turn 40.

Man, the tax payers of Spokane must be delighted that the government-funded home that Lucas lives in and his government-funded caseworker have been failing pretty much from the get-go. I get that resources are scarce and you can't MAKE anyone take their meds, but the fact is the public was sold the idea that Lucas and people like him would be kept in a supervised environment that would keep him on his meds (or have him face consequences) and help prevent another incident that leads to hospitalization. Instead he's been sitting in a free fart box and allowed to do as he pleases.
