i agree with these but also, much more importantly, Lucas was already contacting him and trying to sell him on the pedo plan of baby impregnating for science. If I were Dan, I’d be extremely concerned about the stalking potential of Lucas and, more importantly, Lucas being arrested for something and the press finding Dan mentioned in his videos and there being that connection. I always thought his reasoning was pretty simple - he obviously can't deny being homeless outright and knows that even if he somehow found a zoomer bae she'd find out he was homeless pretty quick so he does the only thing he can think of: he lies and tries to twist it around into somehow being a positive. Just like he does with the fact he doesn't have a car. With a car he twists 'I can't afford one and i'm not allowed to drive and have no place to park it anyway' into 'I don't have a car because they're bad for the environment! i'm poor and reject cars! you should use public transit cause of pollution!' etc... whereas with homelessness he paints it as 'i'm not really a hobo, I was totally kicked out of every place i've ever been because I did something totally positive and got persecuted for it!' and 'I choose to be a hobo! I like it this way!' with the same kind of logic a child would use when something doesn't go their way ('I didn't want it anyway! so there!') and even then twists his own crackpot logic around even more to include that while he's totally not an actual hobo and being a hobo is good, he also is totally going to inherit millions and rule the elk kingdom in 20 years and have a place for the zoomer elk queen and his wernling spawn to live

I’m sorry for what you’re going through, love. It must be all the more frustrating hearing some fucknut detail what he would do with a ranch filled with animals he would most likely neglect if he even inherited it in the first place. I know this is a PL, but I watched and held the hand of a dying family member take their last breath just a few months ago after trying to nurse her to health. We have to remember that these are the things that make Lucas not a “pitiable mental health patient.”
