he got a court order barring him from college or specifically being a "telomere expert"? i thought he was on academic suspension or something and didn't want to admit to it.

My understanding that it was more of a strongly worded letter from a lawyer to lucas warning him to stop using dan eisenbergs name specifically to justify his telomere craziness or an actual restraining order and/or other legal action would follow and thats what freaked lucas out and got him to shut up about it. Legally there is no way he could be prevented from getting an education in general by eisenberg and realistically he can't be prevented from talking about telomeres at all, or in using them to justify his behavior, as the US does have that pesky guaranteed right to free speech. At best he could just be prevented from bringing eisenbergs name into it directly

and even then there really isn't anything he could do even if lucas did refuse to stop bringing his name into it. Whats he going to do, take an admitted schitzo who by all accounts is fucked in the head to court claiming damages? The court would take one look at lucas and say he can't be held liable for anything because hes delusional and doesn't understand what he is reading fully. If not take action against eisenberg for harassing a disabled person by dragging them into court. and even if he did understand, people are free to draw whatever conclusions they want to from scientific studies. Short of lucas literally raping somebody and then saying 'I did this cause dan eisenbergs research said I have to cause muh long telomeres have to go into a teen' theres really nothing actionable dan could do to him. and hell even in that scenario I doubt there would be, if lucas is crazy enough to do something like that hes crazy enough for a court to say hes too nuts to understand the scientific stuff he was reading in the first place enough to fairly conclude intentionally using it in a harmful manner

tldr: at best what the guy did was a scare tactic against lucas and it worked. Lucas is in that tiny sliver of insanity where he is sane enough to know what he is doing and insane enough for any court to pretty much have to let him get away with it. Best he would get short of outright raping or killing someone is another 6 month trip to the funny farm....only to be released with a stack of money waiting for him so he can start the cycle all over again easily

He just says dan did a study, which he did and it was about telomeres, which it was, and that longer telomeres could be a good thing in some ways, which they might be according to said study and then using those statements to claim 'longer telomeres in older men (him) + younger healthier eggs (little girls) are a good thing on a strictly reproductive level, and they very well might be for all anybody knows. Legalities and ethics of that aside. Realistically hes not saying anything thats outright scientifically provably false or technically defamatory or slanderous as far as the telomere stuff goes. Dan can send all kinds of letters claiming he'll take legal action and that could very well scare lucas off of continuing to talk about that, but I very much doubt he would ever be successful in going after lucas for it. If anything I can see it backfiring and him getting in trouble for not knowing better than to drag a schitzo nutcase that is clearly delusional, into court over something like that instead of just ignoring it or issuing a statement saying he doesn't believe lucas's conclusions to be accurate. I'm actually surprised Lucas has managed to not end up on a sex offender list yet. Then again he does like to push the boundaries of what his disabilities can get away with, and he has clearly gotten worse in recent years, so it might just be a matter of time. At his craziest he doubled down and submitted an idea that men under 35 should should be legally banned from having children and should be put in camps where they’d take classes and so on that would help them learn to be better men while also performing labor and various other duties for the good of the community until they reached 35 so they couldn’t cockblock the older men. I believe it’s somewhere back in this thread but I’ll be dammed if I’m gunna waste an hour looking for it.

So he admits he was kicked out because of the threatening to harass 'heroin users because they were bringing high school age girls over to get them high'
