I think it's hilarious that Lucas is hanging out with a notorious meth mouth called "Slugger," especially given his discomfort with proper drugs. Recall his feud with suspected heroin heads that got him the boot from his fart chamber, and these lines from his rap magnum opus:

Absolutely agreed. He may have had some incidental contact with a black girl, just a glance and a passing word, but he has conflated that insignificant moment in his mind to a whole afternoon with a new friend having lunch and exchanging phone numbers.

There is no way any of that happened.

The “tells” in the story that expose it as bullshit is it contains all the classic Wernerworld tropes; i.e. that she had a boyfriend (of course, all girls have boyfriends in Wenerworld) but Lucas worked his magic and bought her food to win her over (another staple aspect of his formula) and they exchanged numbers. Also he says her boyfriend was white, hmmm... Lucas is white, so you know *wink wink, nudge nudge* he has a chance to steal her away (another aspect of the Wernerworld delusion).

My guess is he blended into the crowd of protestors and in that moment felt like he was part of a group for an afternoon, hence the genuine smile he had relating his bs story.
