She's too wrapped up in doing damage control. Plus, she probably doesn't know what to upload now that her anime videos are being targeted.

It seems to me that, in trying so hard to be "famous", she exhausted all she had. Singing got her nowhere. Failed as a model, got booted off Twitch, etc. until she turned to content theft. I think now she's literally trying to be "famous" from infamy. The thing is, she's not Belle Delphine or Alinity (who she's apparently trying to get closer to, and is comparing herself to). She just...doesn't have it. When this blows over, the majority of Youtube will still never know her name.

I initially thought she must have a strike and can't upload for a week (or 2 weeks for 2 strikes), but she has been posting on her community section which is supposed to be also unavailable for these periods if you have a strike/s.

Youtube states:

First Strike

If we find your content doesn’t follow our policies for a second time, you'll get a strike.
This means you won't be able to do the following for one week:
  • Upload videos, live streams, or stories
  • Create custom thumbnails or Community posts
  • Created, edit, or add collaborators to playlists
  • Add or remove playlists from the watch page using the “Save” button
Full privileges will be restored automatically after the 1-week period, but your strike will remain on your channel for 90 days

I wonder what the lawsuits will do to YouTube and if people are going to defend it. Inb4 sets up gofundme for lawsuit.
Google and Patreon are protected by Safe Harbor and every one of the legal teams involved will know it. As for Suzy herself, I can imagine her opening an Only Fans account (which totally won't get leaked) as part of an effort to crowd fund her legal defense.

I can also imagine her going to some sleazy Landau-type lolyer who'll absolutely take her for everything she's worth. If we're lucky, he may even talk her into suing Google and Patreon for reasons that Nick Rekeita will talk about in exchange for a few superchats.

Her Patreon is now under investigation. Looks like a ban for terms violations might be incoming. She needs to find a simp at Patreon quick.

Has anyone figured out who's actually hosting the videos for her website? It's not some website host or some simple VPS because you can't cover the bandwidth costs on that with ads. Whatever service is doing that hosting would probably not be too happy with someone illegally sharing copyrighted materials using their service.

She should go with 1776 Hosting

I went to go check because I was curious and her website runs like such dog shit she may be trying to host them.

John Swan tweeted this a few days ago. I don't know if one subdomain confirms that is where the entire site and videos are hosted but it seems likely since Abelohost are were a well known DMCA ignoring host.*

*Edit: Upon looking into a recent review of DMCA ignoring hosts Abelohost in fact isn't a DMCA ignoring host anymore and the review states;
[If you’re looking to host content protected by the DMCA, AbeloHost is not for you. The company has been known to immediately take sites down after receiving the first legal notice. User reports have been very clear on the subject.]

Also, regarding that Patreon post:
She admitted jack shit about fair use. I was a former patron, and this was the post I took as an opportunity to leave, because the narutards were getting on my nerves, and also because I assumed (because of the way she talked about this whole thing) that she was eventually going to close down or abandon this patreon account anyway.
Now, this may just be speculation, and my memory about the order of things are a bit hazy, but I think that whole postcard debacle got her really scared, so she was going into full damage control mode.
The Naruto reactions were first posted edited (I requested deletion of my Patreon account a few days later or so, which takes 14 days, and I returned once to see what changed), and then taken down alltogether. This, of course, is only anecdotal, because I didn't think I was going to get involved in this whole thing again.
The whole opacity thing referred to her Patreon videos. I'm not sure whether she ever posted videos with no opacity on her website before.

Are you sure you're not looking for things to bitch about? Bear in mind, at that time she was still "save" on Patreon.

TL;DR: She is dumb and all, but I'm still questioning the motive.

Do you know any current patrons? I'm hearing rumors of them getting refunds.

She's also using CloudFlare, the video URL is pointed there. I can't get a transparent answer on what the costs are of one of the two configurations you can have: 1) hosting the video yourself and using CloudFlare for DDoS protection but just streaming through it, 2) actually hosting videos on CloudFlare's CDN.

CloudFlare CDN is $1 per 1000 minutes watched, which is way above AdSense CPM or anything she's likely to be able to get. If we ignore the bandwidth costs entirely and just go with the 1gbps from Abelo that can make $180-1200/mo based on AdSense's CPM before more money needs to be spent. That assumes the full 1gbps is always available, but they only guarantee 100mbps on VPS solutions, unless you pay 10x more for gbps, and that caps at 50GB/mo unless you spend another $100 for unmetered. Odds are she'd end up breaking even unless she manages a really high CPM, or making relatively little off a single VPS.

This isn't a big money play, it feels like either desperation or someone who doesn't understand that/why video hosting is expensive and thought "I can do that!" She'll need some kind of subscription to actually make any money, so there's the weakness.

This isn't entirely accurate. If--as we suspect based on statements and insinuations she's made--she has someone protecting her at YouTube, then the company can be held liable for the actions of that one individual, regardless of their position in the company (vicarious liability). That means that if the person just kept protecting her from DMCAs but was also enforcing her complaints against others directly, then YouTube's safe harbor protections under 230 would be in jeopardy. Even if they fired the person or punished them in another way, the damage would already be done, and they'd probably just settle with the Japs while turning over everything they had without the need for extended legal troubles.
