Machinima is the use of real-time computer graphic engines to create a cinematic production. The word is a portmanteau of the words "machine" and "cinema". Another definition for machinima is the art of making animated narrative films from computer graphics, most commonly using the engines found in video games.
Not entirely related a company of the same name that crashed and burned in the late 2010s.
If you're looking for machinima or related videos, I believe Ross Scott* started a site for cataloging/viewing videos called GorillaGong.com. It might be worth checking out, but it looks like there hasn't really been an update for quite some time now.
*I think it was him. It's been a long while but I think in one of his much older videos he mentioned starting the site or at least being involved in it some how.
