"Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

once they find out the music company is essentially a shell company run by an undesirable, they'll drop and blacklist it just like they do with regular channels
I feel bad that Null has to jump through so many hoops just to get by but it's really funny imagining him setting up a convoluted network of shell companies in various countries like a multi-billionaire trying to hide his assets just so he can fool YouTube into giving him ad money

to my knowledge this has never been done so they might not catch on for some time. If the music company really appears to have no relation to the channel I'm sure it'll slip by.
all it takes is some butthurt lolcow raising a stink about youtube doing business with j. c. moon, notorious neo-nazi and murderer of at least 3 trans womyn, and some google tranny to take note, and it's over

It's more complicated than that, because there are agreements in place - afaik, they can't demonetize it without the permission of the copyright holder

On the other hand, they can just take it down.

Probably, if I were doing this, I would talk to someone who legitimately makes music, and ask them to pay me % of YT royalties under the table. But that could fuck shit up for them, too.

It's an interesting idea. I'll ferret that away somewhere.

Also, I'm tempted to replace my mic. My audio quality always annoys me but I guess that's just how I sound lmfao. I'm not sure how to improve my mic presence. I feel like I don't speak from the chest enough, I breathe into the mic too much, and there's often echo in my room.
Speaking from the diaphragm takes practice, but it will also make your voice sound a lot more full and manly - with more throat and less nose. It also let's you talk far longer and much louder without trashing your voice. Public speaking training materials might be helpful, they taught us some of that stuff in law school. If you want to be a real deal trial attorney your have to be able to talk like that for six to eight hours a day lound enough that the whole room can hear you. Most places still aren't wired for sound and if they are it's usually just a recorder for the court reporter.

I think I speak for most people when I say I don't mind, but you bring it up every so often and I understand feeling like something should be perfect when it's not.
That said, do it simply because the yeti is shit. Learn basic XLR/amp/preamp bullshit, invest in OBS filters for that sweet radio voice nectar.

TL note: I have no idea what half this audio shit means, don't ask me for specifics.

Is that the kind of stuff so many streamers use to make the sound of their voice go from soyboy to two sets of balls? I've always been wondering how they are doing that.
The difference is so massive that it can be hard to tell if the same person is speaking, once they upload something that was recorded on just a phone.

Voice modulation is a thing and it's trivial to adjust your pitch any way you want. There are some V-Tubers who are actually fat Japanese men .

All it takes is a bit of practice. I have a high, slightly nasal voice normally, then when I do my 'newscaster voice' people litterally do double takes at me, and go 'whoa!' It just takes speaking slower, from the upper throat rather then the deep throat/vocal cords (this is the opposite of most advice but works for me) tilting head forward and trying to pitch deeper, and you sound like a different person.

Yeah but that's work and voice modulators are right there. If you're never going outside anyway who gives a shit.

As an occasionally-professional sound guy the secret is to fuck with shit randomly until it sounds gooder.

Not sure how much you've been following this, but Ethan Klein got demolished by Crowder. It's worth a listen in the background, if you consider mentioning this and Frenemies ending in today's podcast. It's genuinely amazing how fucking lazy Ethan is, down to telling people to just "not think about it" and listen to the government. What a guy.
