Seeing Star Wars, LOTR and capeshit higher on the list than Boondock Saints and Leon the Professional kind of says it all.
I tried to watch LOTR recently with my husband who hadn't seen it since he was a kid, and he was embarrassed to have shown it to me because it's such a cheesy movie for little kids. It felt like trying to sit through Harry Potter and we just couldn't do it. I had a similar experience trying to rewatch the very first Star Wars film that I hadn't seen since I was little. None of those movies age even remotely well for people who actually grow up, and it has nothing to do with effects quality.
