Are we talking about the Bible or the U.S. Tax Code? Bada-bing
People who have never filed Schedule S simply do not realize how much of the IRS is seat-of-the-pants and if you don't know the three types of appeals (tax court, real court, etc), you're in for a surprise.

How many major questions left unanswered? More than people would like to admit.

Every time I've put effort into trying to be totally accurate and by the book as opposed to making a good faith effort primarily designed to survive an audit and not get in trouble has just turned into a terrifying spiral and I have an "easy" tax return.

I'm starting to think doing your taxes is like security guards, where you need to hire a contractor just so you can say somebody else made the decision.

There's two main thoughts on it.
  1. Just do what everyone else does, even if you pay more tax. This is the normal "hire someone" option, if everyone is doing it, then even IF you do get audited, and DO have to pay more tax, they'll rarely if ever penalize you.
  2. Pay as little tax as you possibly can and have a reasonable defense for every decision. If you get audited, take it to tax court. This is the cheaper option, and if you do it right, you're likely to never get audited, and even if you do, likely to win, and even if you lose, the chance of additional penalties is low.
It's only through the second do we ever get any fun and/or new IRS rulings that then everyone ends up using all the time.

Consensus is a very useful razor for communication, especially when you're so passionately wrong about this.
Do you consider "telling children god isn't real" on the same level of abuse as raping them? What's the consensus on that?
How is he wrong when the person he's replying to quoted a passage that has absolutely nothing to do with pedophilia?

Get an accountant/tax expert. It's not even worth doing it yourself if you have anything even remotely complicated going on.
Not like HR block, but an actual accountant. It's not as expensive as you think, my guy charges me 100$ to file for me.
And they know more shit than you, they will most likely be able to save you money (paying for itself) or at least point you in the right direction for next year.
And if anything gets fucked up it goes back to them so you don't have to worry about it.

That would be well and good if the Bible ever bothered to lay out exactly what is and isn't sexual immorality.
It does. If you look at a woman (or anything else) who isn't your wife, and you lust after her, you have committed the sin of Adultery. Jews need everything written down explicitly, but Christ knows they knew what He meant when He wrote the law. The Bible isn't a book for governing nations, but for saving souls.
For a book that demands absolute adherence
The book doesn't make any demands of you. It is a book. The Author is another story.
it sure does love making you take stabs in the dark.
That's why we have a Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. We don't have to wonder about these things.

Acts 8:26-40
New International Version

Philip and the Ethiopian

26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” 27 So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian[a] eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means “queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship, 28 and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet. 29 The Spirit told Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.”

30 Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.

31 “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

32 This is the passage of Scripture the eunuch was reading:
“He was led like a sheep to the slaughter,
and as a lamb before its shearer is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
33 In his humiliation he was deprived of justice.
Who can speak of his descendants?
For his life was taken from the earth.”[b]

34 The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?” 35 Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.

36 As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?” [37] [c] 38 And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. 39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing. 40 Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea.

Sexual immorality aka adultery is any sex outside of a marriage between a man and woman. In his sermon on the mount, Christ doubles down and says even looking with lustful intent is adultery.
[28] But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
For a book that demands absolute adherence to its moral principles under the threat of going to Hell for all eternity & permits you little to no margin for error, it sure does love making you take stabs in the dark.
The jew is justified through the covenant with Abraham and by complete adherence to the law of Moses. The Christian is justified by the new covenant forged with the blood of Christ. To be holy on our own one would have to completely adhere to the law of Moses and be free of the original sin of Adam, which is impossible (as exemplified by the Pharisees) . To be made holy by Christ we need only accept the grace of his sacrifice on the cross. The purpose of the law was to show us that we need grace, we can't do it alone.

What I've learned recently is that if one is getting a return, they fucked up. The government is taking far more money from you than you have to tolerate. Set up your life financially to either pay no tax or very little.
Get an accountant/tax expert. It's not even worth doing it yourself if you have anything even remotely complicated going on.

This is the second thing I've learned recently that intelligent adults do. Set up a side business as an LLC, do a little bit of business through it, be amazed at how much stuff you write off or not pay. If you're unsure, ask your accountant. I've heard of people who gross high 6 to low 7 figures annually and after write-offs and other autistic evaluations of the tax laws by their accountants, these people were able to legally report a net of $25k-ish.

The point I'm trying to make is that public school is setup to create a bunch of taxcattle niggers out of us, the government enjoys the benefits of us being ignorant to gaming the system the same way many, many corporations and individuals do, and tax is fucking extortion.

Average argument with a true believer. You ask them to explain what the fuck they're saying about pedophilia and they go on about some other shit to try and explain it in a roundabout way. This is why nobody enjoys it when people argue about religion, there's no clear logical thread that one can follow, and there's no satisfying conclusion. Now you're saying looking at women in a lustful way is the same as raping children. What is wrong with you?

What's even the question here? Is lust the same as rape? The answer is "In Eternity, Yes". Sin is sin and you can't get to Heaven with any of it. Did you steal a Twix from the gas station? Hell. Did you Rape a child? Hell. The punishment is the same (for mortal sins), so the degrees of awfulness are determined here by courts, and worldly institutions for us to punish, or reward, at our discretion. I agree though that the millstone thing isn't explicitly about pedophilia, but it would seem to include it as a metric for "millstone neck-fear". A millstone would be so much better for the offender than what there is waiting for him if he persists in his sin. It would absolutely be better to have never been born, or tortured and murdered, or drowned with a millstone, than to cause a child, or an adult human being, to lose the faith (which I am assuming can also probably be done by raping them). This sounds pretty harsh (maybe not harsh enough for our tastes?), but the Lord is merely warning us just how bad things are when you die in sin, and how grave this sin is.

Schizo man appointed by God (of course) as a "youtube chosen one" explains how the algorithm is a tool of God used to evolve you. God speaks to him through videos. "I won't find the woman God has chosen for me unless I watch more videos."

What's even the question here?
The question is whether or not the bible says to drown pedophiles, and the answer is presumably no because nobody quoted anything like that. Now you're saying something totally different, and that we can just take it as a matter of course because all sins are anathema to god. Why even make a fuss about it? If you're right then you're right, and clearly nobody is going to convince you otherwise because that would entail piercing your impenetrable armor of faith. The original point of this discussion is lost and retarded. Methinks the man of faith dost protest too much.

Okay yeah I'm definitely reading the discussion way wrong here.
