"Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

The last stream....Null's inability to understand radio was cringeworthy. Like he didn't mention at all that Anthony and Ralph had mutual friends, or why O&A broke up (Anthony for a racist rant on Twitter after he was physically assaulted by someone on the street, Opie for taking videos of his co-workers shitting), or that the wording of XM Radio WAS correct, the company merged with Sirius later.

he literally said he had no idea what o&a was or their history.

Hey Josh I was listening to old MATI episodes as back ground noise, and I kinda miss the garden/bird updates, you ever gonna do something like that again?
Hopefully after Josh is done smuggling himself into another country without US extradition. Can't risk having a fed find him eating pizza and homemade subway sandwiches.

In light of that CCTV footage of the Uvalde shooting coming out, does anyone know which stream it was involving a different shooting where Josh talked about how the cops have no obligation to help you and that they're some of the most retardedly incompetent people out there? I'd like to see that clip for cathartic reasons.

No clue. I know that the Supreme Court found that protect and serve does not mean the community, but rather something else. Then they dropped standards in the 60’s to increase the numbers of minorities in the police force, you’ll also be refused entry if you score too high.

Josh talked about how the cops have no obligation to help you
As someone pointed out recently to me - that's actually a good thing. Imagine a moment that cops were obligated to help you. That would mean they have to be ALWAYS helping you - aka imagine a helicopter parent cop. Would you want cops stopping by to check up on your health? Making sure you're getting plenty of exercise and are eating right? You want them coming by to do checkups on your car? Seeing if your place is clean and following every ordinance?

Obligation to help == nanny state

Being nanny cops is a bit different from if a tranny is shooting up a school, yeah cops should be obligated to go stop the shooter because it is literally their job.
Oh wait NVM the cops are just another arm of zog to oppress Whites. My mistake.

That's silly sophistry. There's a mile between saying the cops should have liability for just not even trying and saying they have liability if everything isn't perfect and blessed.

No real argument there (especially if schools are going to be state property and state mandated - then IMO the children would also fall under the "state custody" requirement of protection), that's why I clipped out a very specific, narrow part of the post and not the whole thing.

Yeah, and have you ever known a government to respect or acknowledge that mile?

"The Clause is phrased as a limitation on the State's power to act, not as a guarantee of certain minimal levels of safety and security; while it forbids the State itself to deprive individuals of life, liberty, and property without due process of law, its language cannot fairly be read to impose an affirmative obligation on the State to ensure that those interests do not come to harm through other means." DeShaney v. Winnebago County Department of Social Services, 489 U.S. 189 (1989).

That's fair, but I still think it's important to keep straight that just because the government will try and paint over the difference doesn't mean it's not there.

The better shocking case is castle Rock v. Gonzales

Protect and Serve is literally a marketing slogan for the LAPD and has zero legal grounding or obligation.

Oh I very much am in favor of the fine distinction between philosophy and legality. I have quite a long list of things the government should probably do in theory, but I know they'll never be able to actually pull off in practice without fucking it up.

When you talk about someone on a stream you have to have SOME idea of what you're talking about. Maybe I'm expecting too much of a reclusive autist who lives in Eastern Europe but...you couldn't have scanned the Wikipedia page?
Are we listening to the same show?
Do you really expect Josh, of all people, to put together a well researched presentation and not just rant into a mic for an hour?

Hey now, not fair! Null does some research; he even makes notes! Unfortunately he also occasionally deletes said notes like a doofus.

But those little hiccups are just part of the comedy of errors that makes MATI so much fun
