i for one thought it was wonderful that my ears got blown out while i was comparing prices on oat milk.I should know by now to never add a gain filter to get a video loud enough because I always forget to turn it off. I really hate fucking up on person streams because that's how it gets archived. The June one makes me so angry because I was so lucky to get all my new audio equipment for it, I rigorously tested everything, and then at the last second upped my gain too much.
I'll archive it with a correction but still.
on archie there's a few things that horrify me about the case. first off the amount of people who felt it was an injustice to not take him to america for experimental treatment. Flight is stressful enough on the body, not to mention a body filled with tubes and medications being used to keep one in a pseudo-stasis. It's sad but there is a point where it's simply too late and the least painful thing to do is let go.
Second, I'm not entirely sure about the hospice requirements for UK (modern ideals of hospice did start there though) but in America he almost certainly would've not qualified just because of his family. One of the earliest requirements is a promise to seek no aggressive treatment. This rule can mean seeking therapies or surgeries, or could even be as simple as going to the hospital to treat something in an emergency. Hospice nurses are supposed to be contacted and it's all supposed to happen in house barring exceptional circumstances. His family seeking treatment aggressively as they have would've made him ineligible for services (at least in America but likely UK as well) and prevented him from receiving the care he actually needs: comfort and quality of life. Staff could've focused on medications to make his end of life more peaceful rather than this horror show.
third, fuck this bitch stealing blood. hearing null talk about the constant blood transfusions just irks me. there's like a constant need for blood and blood parts and the amount that was being siphoned into a corpse because a mother can't say goodbye is absolutely horrifying. there is so many uses of blood. It's essentially necessary in every surgery, accident/emergency, and things like platelets are used with cancer patients during their treatments. There's a chance that people can die from waiting for blood and here is a boy whose brain is rotting receiving it almost daily.
