That's too bad. I have a RasPi Pico, an Arduino competitor which is far cheaper ($4; I'm heterosexual so I'm not sure if there's a Rust framework for it yet, but it's just an ARM chip so it wouldn't surprise me) and I've had quite a bit of fun with it. Too bad the people who made it probably hate me, but I guess it's too late to worry about that now.

On Arduino's you don't have to run a full linux OS just to drive some pins to turn LED's on and off. You could send commands right to the arduino with rs232 over usb with shell scripts. On your streaming PC you have what every brings the microphone up do a

and just have some simple code on the arduino that is polling it's serial port for that "LED1 ON" text. And then change the state of the pin that is driving your ON AIR led when it see's it come in. . Bada bing, bada boom.

Yes, the Raspberry Pi Pico boards (as opposed to the mainline Raspberry Pi boards) work the same way; they are just microcontrollers with a bunch of pins and don't require an OS or have HDMI or networking ports or that sort of thing.

That being said, point taken regarding the bongs vs. the Italians.

Re Java and Android development, most new Android development happens in Kotlin nowadays AFAIK. But yes, Java will be around for decades regardless; learn it first, then learn Kotlin.

1. Arduinos are a great multi-tool, I keep a Leonardo in my laptop case, remarkably have even gone through security with it when flying world wide without incident....

What level of microelectronic tinkering are you at, are you electricity+resister + led=light, or setting up many bytes of registers configure a bunch of peripherals after days of reading datasheets? If you are even lower level, or just interested in learning it, Google has partnered with a couple fabs that will allow you to make your own chips for free and has a course as well:

2. It is a shame Anime was spoiled for you, I'm sure there is some sub genre over the 50 or so good more modern years of anime that would be interesting, especially in the psychological / horror / sci-fi(non-lain) genres perhaps, but generally having the majority of today's featuring girls is understandably a turn off for many people. Maybe Monster, Psycho-Pass, Blame, No Guns Life, The Big O, Gantz, Mushishi, Inuyashiki.


3. You mentioned Korean's smoking, it is actually an Asian thing, check out the smoking rates in China and Japan, while you visited at least one of those places, you'll be shocked at the percent who smoke. Peer pressure, group think, and conformity combined with a highly addictive substance is an unrivaled force...


4. Thank you for continuing to take a moment to honor Terry Davis.

Can't wait to see your vtuber icon even if you only use one for a joke for a few minutes to "meet them halfway". Even Dick & Sean got some made for them, I think he was only sober enough to get them working once though.

What's unfortunate is highschools teach basic Raspberry Pi but not Arduino so the students think you need a powerful computer to turn an LED on.
Regarding Java: Scala is the new Java that Google uses. Java is a decent and fast language but you have to understand the language beyond highschool/pajeet level. Java sucks because it's easy to write bad code. The clustered database, Cassandra, is written in Java and it works well... most of the time.

I can really see why Yahtzee pre-emptively says before any weeb-related shit he covers some spiel about ‘no don’t recommend me anime I’m not interested you weird freaks’.

What is it with anime obsessives constantly trying to convert people? Is it to reassure themselves that they aren’t creepy weirdos perving on little cartoon girls if everyone else is doing it too?

Or it can be they are anti-social nerds that have no idea that people have different interests/tastes in media and think liking one subgenre of anime makes you like all of them.

A couple things regarding Hyojin:

Null kept bringing up her being a vTuber, she has one, and I quote it at this point to remind people how fucking grading her voice is, as she loves to scream and shout like a spastic. Coincidently, she stopped streaming altogether after her and Ed's breakup.

Another really fucked up thing that Hyojin did was at one point, she was streaming from Ed's place to get the funds to go back to Australia (which she raised in six hours), but Ed's mom, unaware of Hyojin's financial situation (which was really good, and was at her peak in views), dropped thousands of dollars to get her home from Belgium, Ed's home country, right as the Covid pandemic took effect. She also forced Ed into writing a statement for her character after she not only slapped him, but held him at knife point to stop him from leaving. During this, her mother called her an attention whore... can't imagine where she got her issues from.

Something like that. Anime is a lifestyle for these people and not just a hobby. Like furries, trannies and BDSM weirdos. It overtakes every aspect of their lives and they only really get along with fellow weirdos because they mostly see the world through their lens of choice. And someone not being interested reminds them that they are a freak.

I finally figured out why Ralph with the cigar visage is so haunting to me- It's almost shot for shot channeling the fucking old image of Sir Reginald Brownpill. Now the rest of you bastards have to suffer with remembering that.

Isn't it a bit hypocritical considering that in his pre ZP days he did joke reviews for hentai games?
