"Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

Okay, the four things I'm considering right now:
  • When (Once a week on Saturday? Every weekday?)
  • Where (New channel? Twitch?)
  • How Long (2 hours a day? 6~8 hours once a week?0
  • What? (Long form games like HOI4/Dota? Strictly episodic walking sims?)
I really want to know, specifically from people who actually watch other people play games already, what would work best in a general entertainment sense. I only ever watch people play games when I'm watching some romanian dude play EU4 or Dead by Daylight to learn some stuff.
Weekdays is preferable imo. I listen to your content for the same reason I read your website, to kill time at work.

Preferably something you can make fun of as you play. Singleplayer only so people don't streamsnipe.

Honestly your Life is Strange vids are like the gold standard of what you should aim for.

Oh, I got it! The Last of Us Part 2. (maybe play 1 first if you haven't already)

Oh just do Kiwifarms plays pokemon. Hop into the stream at random to comment on how dumb we're all being.

If you are going to play Paradox games, it may be a good idea to buy their DLC now. Apparently, they are doubling prices on some DLC next month.

Also, do you have plans for more Gumroad content? Like maybe a follow-up about the Harpo Jarvi guy?

Dittoing the audience participation bit. It was hilarious during the LiS streams and helps keep your audience checked in. I'm not picky on what genre to stream since it comes down to either "is this person's commentary enjoyabl?e" or "are they somehow super talented in X game". A lot of fps streamers are boring as fuck to watch other than for gameplay, and I'm sure there's a large portion of your audience that listens to your streams in the background, so I'd lean more into narrative or strategy games.

Ultimately you should play whatever you think you'll enjoy. The last thing we want is for our overlord to burn himself out and ruin streaming for himself.

If God didn't mean for Paradox DLC to be pirated, then He wouldn't have had them make so many of them.

Guilty of watching people play vidyas.

Would be fun to see you play something tense… maybe Alien Isolation or something?
Or something scary… like Man of Medan/Until Dawn…

(I watch other people play scary games because they usually have cool storylines but I am too scared to play them myself)

Any stream schedule or platform works for me.

One long video a week would be good. Probably would be easier for you as well to just get it done all at once. Something story focused would be best. I think most people want to see you react to the story and characters. If you want something like Life Is Strange where it's more of an interactive story and also goofy, I'd recommend some David Cage games. Some old point and click game like I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream or Clock Tower could be fun too. Could be a good way to draw some donos too with people getting frustrated about your progress and sending money to tell you what you need to do next. Should also just make a new channel on Youtube. Twitch would get nuked so fast.

If he's gonna play some David Cage games, then I hope for either Indigo Prophecy or Beyond: Two Souls. Both those games are interesting in their own rights: Indigo for its weird way of doing QTE's ala Simon Says, and Beyond for how its story is literally all over the place. One minute you're a child Ellen Page being tested for her psychic powers, then the next you're a teenager Ellen Page in a warzone. It'd be fun seeing Jersh commentate over those games for their absurdity

Hypnospace Outlaw is a great streamer-friendly mystery game where you act as a janny for a small internet service on the verge of Y2K. Seen a few streamers play it and it's always fun.

Fucking weird twist there where she chopped her tits off and called herself Elliot, never seen that in a game before.
