Back in last May he was still on the Linux train and AMD cards work the best with those. I reckon once he gave up on free operating systems he got an Nvidia card since those generally get the best bang for your buck on Windows.

During #DropKiwiFarms last year I had a serious issue with my computer and spent hours and hours trying to fix my video drivers using AMD resources that just did not work out of the box. I was absolutely livid and ended up putting in an order for parts for entirely new computer. I gave my old one away to a nearby friend who was stuck with some proper cheeki breeki shit. I built my last computer in 2017 I think so I was due an upgrade. I also just installed Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC instead of fucking around with Linux again. I still have a GTX 1060 somewhere I think.
