He legit won't be able to, he'll have to bite down on gauze or something else to reduce the bleeding.I think he said they were wisdom Teeth, yeah. I dont blame him for not wanting to podcast after a procedure like that.
Good compilation of advice. There isn't much else to be said. Also stay away from carbonated beverages. How in the actual fuck did you get your wisdom teeth bullshit at age 30? Regardless, there are a number of precautions and general measures of care you'll be needing to take and gradually change over the next two weeks.
The most important ones off the top of my head:
Please take proper care of yourself to avoid complications and remember that streaming on schedule is just not worth the cost here. We'll still be here in three days and in a week. I hope you have a blender, lots of pillows, someone to help you out and some awesomely bad movies to watch while you're doped up.
- Do not create pressure in your mouth, be it positive or negative. This means you cannot swallow or rinse with your mouth completely shut. If you create pressure, you risk not only dry sockets, but possibly opening holes between your mouth and sinus cavity if your top molars had crazy roots. This also means DON'T USE STRAWS.
- If you absolutely must chew, only do so with your front teeth, no exceptions. Doing otherwise risks jamming food into your blood clots, which leads to infection and other complications.
- Wait until day 3 to irrigate the wounds with a syringe. Even then, only do so with minimal pressure, or you'll still risk displacing your blood clots and getting dry socket. Lean forward over your sink while doing this to ensure as much ease as possible for any debris and old blood residue to be displaced and ejected.
- Pay close attention to your protein and iron intake. This should be self explanatory.
- Do not raise your blood pressure much at all. But knowing you, this shouldn't be too much of an issue, I hope.
- Do not sleep lying down. Just don't lie down completely at all. You could increase the blood flow to your head enough to displace your clots. Prop yourself up with pillows behind your back and head.
- Do not skip rinsing after everything you ingest other than water. Get some water in your mouth, tilt your head back and gently shake your head side to side to clean the wounds.
- If you're having issues forming clots right after surgery, use two wet teabags of black tea in place of gauze packs.
- Do not press dry gauze onto the wounds while they're forming clots. Doing so will greatly risk the clots being pulled out with the gauze and land you with dry socket.
- Be alert to possible damage below the gum line from a botched procedure. It is very much possible for the roots of the adjacent molars to receive significant damage that turns into something nasty sooner or later.
If you like/love chicken soup, you will have no problems. Remember to make sure the soup isn't hot.I just had this done a month ago. I hope you like soup Josh!
Outside of the US doctors are not so eager to prescribe hardcore painkillers. He'll probably get ibuprofen. This is it everyone, they'll give Josh a vicodin or two for the pain, and thus begins the spiral downward into Josh's pillstreaming arc, let's brace ourselves, we're gonna see Josh's REAL internet history soon.
