The Rust Foundation has been working on a new trademark policy, and have released a WIP version. The policy would prohibit the use of the word Rust is almost any situation that has not been directly approved by the Rust Foundation, including in the names of libraries (e.g. openssl-rust would be banned). They also require that any events about Rust to "prohibit the carrying of firearms, comply with local health regulations, and have a robust Code of Conduct."
