Current era out of advertising money but, won the culture war.
The activist organization Feminist Frequency is set to disband at the end of the year.

Founder Anita Sarkeesian posted a letter on the organization’s web page explaining her decision to end her involvement and to disband by the end of 2023.

Sarkeesian cites exhaustion as the primary reason for her decision, but also adds she: “can express both a sense of pride that conversations about online abuse have become part of our lexicon, and a reality that it has come at the cost of my health and wellbeing”.

What does this mean for her other projects such as Games Hotline and the podcast?

So what does this mean going forward? Read on for details…

For me, it means prioritizing rest and taking time away from the direct responsibility of being the face of a mission, for the first time in a decade and a half. You can stay in touch with me at my website or on various social media @anitasarkeesian.
For Feminist Frequency, it means a gradual ceasing of operations, shutting down completely in early 2024.
The Games and Online Harassment Hotline will be available through September 30, after which time its fantastic leader Jae Lin will continue to operate its accountability support space ReSpec, and the website will stay live with critical resources for building a safer games culture.
Our podcast, Feminist Frequency Radio, will continue to be helmed by its co-host Kat Spada. “Tropes v. Women” and our full video archive will remain online, available as a free media criticism resource indefinitely.
And we will be sure that our community is kept informed of all closing details as a final annual report will be published and a celebration for community and industry partners will be held in early 2024.
The alleged purpose of Feminist Frequency has been to highlight sexism in the video games industry. Critics of the organization allege that Feminist Frequency’s impact has had a chilling effect on free speech and has encouraged censorship. But it’s also true that there are real issues that need called out such as the “workplace culture” at Activision-Blizzard.

Elon does not want to pay the hate tax pulling the i did my job card.
- X's filing accuses the CCDH of breach of contract, violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, intentional interference with contractual relations and inducing breach of contract.
- The CCDH’s UK and US branches are “activist organizations masquerading as research agencies”.
- Some advertisers have paused ad spending on X in direct response to the group’s reports - losing X atleast tens of millions of dollars, which is alleged to have been the group’s goal all along. X is aware of a number of major companies that have paused ad spending after each CCDH report.
- Many media outlets, most recently a Bloomberg report, have relied on the CCDH’s reports to claim hate speech is rising on X, which has damaged X’s reputation
- The CCDH illegally obtained X data in two ways - scraping via bots, and through gaining unauthorised access by a 3rd party to data given securely to Brandwatch. This also involved violating the X Terms of service which it agreed to on creating its account.
- X is seeking to determine the identities of the CCDH’s backers and funders during the course of the trial and add them as defendants. X believes these backers include other social media platforms aswell as governments and groups with ties to legacy media.
- The group has a history of advocating for online censorship, such as calling for deplatforming a “Disinformation dozen” of vaccine sceptics from social platforms. Meta criticized this report as inaccurate.
- The CCDH could not have compiled its reports but-for its use of illegally obtained data from Brandwatch.

Null made the terrible decision of visiting the Kennel Club to ask: "ok, whomever receives this message inform me what kind of dog or other animal is most associated with the postal service. If it's a dog I need the breed."

In response to your dog breed inquiry, I have no idea, normally I just see how postal employees are abused by animals defending their terrtory. And I laughed and thought of this parody video. I hope this helps. If it doesn't I am pleased to continue the tradition of disappointment and disgust the kennel club is known for.

Farage, debanking, Natwest, the BBC, and accountclosed.org

First post after a long time lurking, sorry if there's a better place to post something this long but I thought this whole story might interest @Null, in particular the last section.

29th June:

Nigel Farage puts out a video saying that his bank of multiple decades, Coutts (a subsidiary of Natwest), is cutting him off without good reason. Youtube (0:38 - 1:53)
He got a phone call a couple of months ago, and then a letter, saying his bank account is to be closed due to a "commercial decision". He has since tried to sign up to 7 more banks for personal and business account and been declined every time. He says he is thinking about having to leave the country.

4th July:

The BBC published an article with the title
Nigel Farage bank account shut for falling below wealth limit
(Archive 04/07/2023) , deboooonking the ridiculous idea that Farage was removed for political reasons, and saying that the real reason Coutts kicked Farage out was purely a "commercial decision" in that he simply didn't have enough money to be in the rich-person bank anymore. Coutts said that Farage had fallen below limit of £1M in current account.

10th July:

New video from Farage: Youtube (0:34 - 2:24) - now 9 banks have rejected him for a new account (he suspected on the excuse of "politically exposed person" EU banking rules). He criticises Coutts for breaching client confidentiality and says that he has contact from other people with Coutts saying that they are below this £1M so-called "limit" and still have their accounts intact.

18th July:

After an information request about why he was de-banked, Farage manages to acquire an internal 40-page Soviet-style "dossier" by Coutts on himself (attached), mentioning "Brexit", "Trump" and "racist" dozens of times, and generally decrying him as a horrible racist antisemitic fascist literally-Hitler meanie. (Article, Archive). Includes the excerpt "Commentary and behaviours that do not align with the bank's purpose and values have been demonstrated". Proof as written that the purpose of banks and likewise institutions is no longer about making money. Also amusing that they refer to him as NF all the way through, wonder if that was on purpose.

Included in the memo is "he meets the EC criteria for commercial retention", and other statements to the same effect, which means that Coutts simply lied when they briefed BBC that the de-banking was for commercial reasons. To be generous to the BBC, this is yet another case where a modern "journalism" organisation has done absolutely zero due diligence and investigation, and has accepted every claim from their "trusted source" at face value. To be less generous, this is a senior journalist (the business editor) of the state broadcaster deliberately conspiring with a client in power to spread lies about a political opponent and control a narrative (say it ain't so).

Here's his video on the report: Youtube
Timestamps:
0:00 - 1:18 outline
3:31 - 5:42 the infiltration of power structures by the usual suspects
6:38 - 7:28 talking about how banks are working with financial data companies to use people's internet and social media posts to decide their worthiness for a bank account

21st July:

The BBC decides to edit the title and body of their completely false article, to say "we didn't say the thing that we said, it was our source".
The headline on the Farage story has been clarified and an update posted. It should have been clearer at the top that the reason for Mr Farage's account being closed was commercial - was what a source told the BBC. That has been corrected.
(Tweet, Archive)
The new article:
Nigel Farage bank account shut for falling below wealth limit, source tells BBC
(Archive)
Simon Jack has since "apologised" to Farage (Article, Archive)

25th July, afternoon:

The board of Natwest, the parent bank to Coutts, says it "retains full confidence in Ms [Alison] Rose as CEO of the bank"

26th July, 01:30 in the morning, after a long emergency meeting:

Alison Rose resigns with unanimous agreement of the board (lol) Article, Archive

27th July:

Even the prime minister, Rishi "who's colonising who now" Sunak, has weighed in on the issue, in the typical Tory style of weakly holding a piece of wet tissue up to the cultural battering ram being wielded against the country: Article, Archive
He has refused to back the new CEO, who was one the board members who outwardly defended Alison Rose and gave his confidence in her. So there might still be more resignations to come.

Natwest's stock has fallen from 260 to 238 since the 19th of July. Basically, the moral of this story is that while the miasma has sunk its tentacles into almost every nook of power in public and private institutions, you will still get wrecked if you ignore the golden rule: Don't fuck around with rich people's money.

Account Closed:

Farage has created a new campaign website, accountclosed.org, to raise awareness for people who have been cut off from the banking system for political reasons, and to fight for access to the exchange of money to be a common, politically neutral service. Article, Archive

It looks pretty bare at the moment, but they have a contact page and are inviting people to give their input. It seems like they might be very receptive to tying in de-banking to the internet infrastructure censorship that has been going on here.

From the above Guardian live feed:

Donald Trump says he expects to be indicted today over attempts to overturn 2020 election
Donald Trump said he expects to be indicted at 5pm EST today as part of special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Trump posted to Truth Social:

"I hear that Deranged Jack Smith, in order to interfere with the Presidential Election of 2024, will be putting out yet another Fake Indictment of your favorite President, me, at 5:00 P.M. Why didn’t they do this 2.5 years ago? Why did they wait so long? Because they wanted to put it right in the middle of my campaign. Prosecutorial Misconduct!"

This is currently a live, breaking story, so I have no separate article to post.

The BBC live link, for haters of the Grauniad. I know, the Beeb isn't much better, but sometimes they are better about overseas stuff than domestic.
Depends if they get a World Service reporter or not.

Update: He has been indicted, but the judge has sealed the content.
That's shady as fuck.

Black Barnie movie is a movie about being there for your kids and watching Barnie with them because that's what they wanted to do instead of you being able to "go to the corner store for a pack of smokes".

I don't know if you read this but Josh, you should try and get on Glen Greenwald's show. He is a fellow Rumbler, anti-censorship hawk, and recently has been on a campaign to raise awareness about Wikipedias corruption and how it is controlled by Google and the US Democratic Party which basically uses it to tar and feather its enemies. His last show falls perfectly in line with your recent plight, particularly how ISP's reference the biased Wikipedia article on KF to make their unprecedented censorship decisions. It's a tall order, I know, but maybe it's possible if enough tards @ him on Twitter.

I know there's principles behind not making new social media accounts, but at this point I'd be curious to see what happened if a new KF and Gab account went up. Are they ignoring the banned accounts on purpose and hoping that they'll just go away or is this hard-set policy? I have an idea that its the ladder but I don't know for sure.

The old accounts are so dusty right now that any previous followers are gone anyway. If anything it'd stir up shit and make me laugh. I'd go to the limits of my competency and copy/paste links from community happenings for you if you wanted, Jersh.

@Null played a superchat clip featuring the below:

download (8).jpeg

This is Corbin "Jupiter" Pannell and I stumbled across him on tiktok (shut up I know). His videos were typical distilled spurglord autistic hypercringe and I thought he might have some lolcow potential. He is autistic, delusional, and has openly admitted to being a pedophile. Last time I checked he didn't have much, if any, presence on the site. Unfortunately, it seems like the milk on this cow might have already run dry because at some point the police got involved and he hasn't posted anything I can find since early July. I had the foresite to save as many of his tiktoks as possible for when I have more time to look into the situation but as of posting this he still has plenty of content still on tiktok.

Completely unrelated, but I hope the movie Josh reviews is The Greasy Strangler. I know he has played music from the soundtrack on previous streams.

Never knew Mad at the Internet was this popular. First recommendation in Odysee's Pop Culture segment (even beat out It's a Gundam, SomeOrdinaryGamers and The Quartering).

I can't piiiiinnn!

EDIT: As you can see, I can link externally... but I still can't pin? Of course they'd introduce something in a half broken state. I'm not complaining, their incompetence benefits us for once.
