The "Puru Puru Pururin" video from the Yandere Dev channel is an anime parody from the anime "Welcome to the NHK". It is designed to be a parody of a magical girl anime for young girls. The song was specifically designed to be obnoxious as part of the plot.

In Welcome to the NHK, the story is about an adult male in his 20s who lives alone off his parents' money. The story follows his journey from living as a hermit loser to getting a job and being social with other people. Evidently, he does try to kill himself at some point in the story.

The protagonist's neighbor plays that "Pururin" song looped on loud speakers and the protagonist angrily busts the door of the neighbor to find an old friend who is an anime-obsessed otaku that likes the little girl anime.

Welcome to the NHK was a really good first-person examination of japanese societal dysfunction and the aftermath of the "lost decade"
It just becomes more and more relevant as that dysfunction spreads across the anglosphere.

I was in the middle of a drop in Helldivers 2 and I thought Josh's connection had dropped. He must have muted himself or something because there was several minutes of silence. Then suddenly phone noises and bog witch sobbing while I was exploding a bug nest. It was surreal.
