Fantasy anime especially this last year has been the most normie friendly non anime anime that I've watched and enjoyed. I still think he would like Frieren, because it's just LoTR, but Gandalf is the main character and is a elf. Also memes.

How come that at this point still every time someone speaks ill of anime someone waltzes in here and goes "well akschumally the one I like is cool and good"? This has never worked once before and always derailed the thread and made the next hand full of pages unreadable because of autistic in-fighting about that shit. Can we please not do that this time?

It might be retarded but I don't think it's hypocritical. He doesn't like japan or japanese media, that's all. He arrived at this conclusion after growing up browsing 4chan, watching some anime like lucky star (one of the most popular of all time) and literally going to japan on a business trip, witnessing drunken people stumbling around going to fuck prostitutes in love hotels. How is his dislike unjustified or hypocritical at all? I may disagree with his position because shit like Psycho Pass is unbelievably good but I'm not going to take umbrage with it. It's no different from many positions many people take on many different things. I don't buy anything that uses denuvo for example, even though some games that use it might be good. I simply wait for it to be cracked or removed, then pirate it because I refuse to give money to publishers who contract drm that treats me like a criminal before I'm even interested in their product.
