Null I think the real reason they are pushing Know Your Customer on to VPS's is they are getting really worried about holding on to power and controlling information. They see people getting visits in the UK by the cops over facebook posts and think thats a good thing.

People will think twice about posting Wrong Think on their blog if they know their full dox are attached to it. They know some shithead bureaucrat sill just leak their info. Or someone will figure out how to get the VPS to hand it over for a defamation lawsuit. Or Feds will strait up start intimidating people by door knocking to make sure they are not doing what ever the current definition of Extremism is. Maybe start questioning their friends and employers too. You know. Just to make sure there is no Extremism.

This law will also put lots of mom and pop VPS's out of business because the overhead with managing, securing, and tracking all this will just make the operation not profitable. I am sure a 1 man band 1776Hosting-tier VPS doesn't want to deal with being responsible for for peoples DL and passport scans. What a nightmare.

The only hosts that will be able to deal with this will be the big glowing ones like godaddy, digitalocean, etc.

Just another step in killing the big I Internet and pushing everyone in to controlled "PLATFORMS" like Facebook.
Kill Your Customer is a good way to chip away at anonymity without getting struck down by the courts, since the regulation would likely be deemed OK under the Commerce Clause instead of a First Amendment violation. It probably won't stop people from writing anonymously on Blogspot, but it could affect sites in the vein of Kiwi Farms. Most people would already have to go out of their way to host a website or use some of these cloud services completely anonymously. If they are determined, they will simply go to foreign companies now, but it means less and worse choices. I hope someone cares enough to quantify the loss of revenue.

Requiring identification would probably prevent some malicious use of the cloud/VPS services, such as for spreading or controlling malware. Think of the compooters. The AI objective is also a big one. They say they want to restrict "foreign persons" from training "large" AI models that could be used for "malicious cyber-enabled activity", which could broadly include "social engineering attacks" (read: damn near anything). Combined with the identification of customers, that means if you want to train your ChudNiggerAI LLM on an Amazon Web Services equivalent, your name and dox could be attached to it. The foreigners are a red herring because you are screwed either way. Your identity could make its way to law enforcement, or even leaked/abused by the employees themselves. It could become more expensive if not impossible for an individual to train a big AI model anonymously.

The ramifications of this can't be fully known in advance, but it's definitely going to suck. It's modeled after anti-money laundering regulations. Pushing the vast majority of people to a handful of websites like Facebook/Insta already happened.

The rules aren't finalized yet but will be packed into an executive order and signed by the potato:

How the legitimate fuck do you read this and not get blackpilled? The US government fucking checkmated us. They have killed online anonymity and wrongthink in one fell swoop and nobody is talking about it. I give it about another year or two before they dox us all and we're sent to the gallows.

41% doesn’t include all of the disgusting faggots that were “successful” for the first and last time in wretched lives since reaching the egg. I use the term “successful” very loosely. Total tranny death since they will never be considered “successful” at anything aside from suicide. Failed men, fail at life and their only contribution to society is killing one repulsive tranny, themselves. TTD/BOGO

Hurry up and die faggots.

“ Hmm I do think that the story is a harbinger of bad things to come, but his conclusion is so messy. "The pro-censorship group wakes up every day to make the world a worse place, what are you waking up and doing?" is just a bad, non-actionable premise.

The fact of the matter is, the pro-censorship group has capital to bargain with. They can walk up to a powerful person/organization/entity and say "if you give me X, I can help you with Y". The pro-censorship crowd can offer politicians to make negative stories go away, they can offer the Democrats to control information pipelines, they can offer Israel to censor pro-Palestinian stories, etc.

What can the "anti-censorship" crowd offer someone? "If you give us power, you'll see more negative stories and mean tweets about you! That news article from 20 years ago is still at the top of the search engine, and it's going to stay there!" That's not an appealing proposition, and it's no wonder why the "supporters" are free speech (right wing dipshits) turn tail the second they find it expedient to use the powers of censorship and control.

The author is right - to literally 90% of the Western population, this is too complicated and difficult to understand. The millennial generation is probably the only one with enough baseline built-in knowledge of how computers/the internet/connectivity work (because they were the ones who had to do manual troubleshooting as kids), and that specific generation is so tilted towards censorship because of the battering ram of "Disinformation is harmful"/"Hate speech is not free speech"/"The First Amendment cannot apply to corporations" that's been at the door for the past decade. There's no chance that future generations will care to learn about the inner workings of technology (Gen Z literally sound like Boomers when they App don't work).

The only chance to overcome this dearth of knowledge and willpower would be sweeping, broad legislation that ensured corporations cannot limit access to technical services from individual users and reliant businesses on ideological grounds. But we don't live in a place where sweeping, broad legislation is possible. It's too useful for the powers that be to keep the control panel of censorship at their sides and the anti-censorship crowd has nothing to offer them to change their positions. Even vague calls for money and resources from donors fall flat, because any donation worth a shit isn't coming from a place of principle, it's coming from a place of expecting favors back.

It's cooked. It's over. The Internet will be a heavily monitored prison where you log into your cell, eat your corporate/state-approved slop of information, and go to bed tired and drained.”

Seems like more and more of the anti-censorship crowd are throwing in the towel after realizing just how deep the rot goes. Signs are pointing to a future where the masses happily deepthroat globohomo cock and dissenters are erased.

One has to wonder whether we are partially to blame for these circumstances, knowing that we could have called this out sooner and nipped it in the bud.

Not to doompost too much, but it's even worse than that. Gen Z is utterly retarded, yet they still grew up with a little, a smidgen, a modicum of tech knowledge. They just buried and forgot it all under layer upon layer of dopamine mind killers. They're like boomers in a sense, but they're still mildly functional human beings who remember such things as having to troubleshoot Minecraft and Skyrim mods.

And when I say "mildly functional" I would like to put a lot of emphasis on how rare that skill is rapidly becoming. Gen Alpha can't fucking read. They can't behave in classrooms. They're literally feral children, and the plot of Battle Royale must not be that far off considering just how shitheaded they are. Scratch not knowing how to troubleshoot Windows XP or even modlists. Those fuckers don't even remember a time when phones had replaceable batteries. A lot of them view most physical media as arcane knowledge. Seriously, this is something that already affects Gen Z, just look up stories of people being utterly retarded regarding random appliances online such as stories of zoomers not being able to fucking fry an egg. Now imagine Gen Alpha, it'll be that but on steroids. "You can use a frying pan to fry an egg? Bullshit, I insert the egg whole in my ChudFry 6 million and that's how you fry a goddamn egg, you retard!"

And they don't even have an incentive to learn because they have precisely ZERO nostalgia for anything. Gen Z has 00s and Minecraft nostalgia. What does Alpha have? Absolutely fuck all worth mentioning, they grew in the slopworld we created for them. On that matter, that same world also turned them all into rootless cosmopolitans who can't even begin to imagine a life outside of their own lived experience. They'll be gooning and getting groomed, immersing themselves in the purest, rawest form of sewage when it comes to Discord, Xitter, TikTok extremist circlejerks - and unlike Gen Z they'll not even realise that they have chains around their ankles, and that a life not eating bugs and living in a pod is a thing that exists. Gen Z just calls it "cottagecore", which is fucking retarded but I digress too much.

To sum it up: Gen Z will call you a walltexter and decline to read your post. Vast swathes of Alpholoids will not even be able to read your post.

It hasn't even happened yet. It probably will but it's yet another clickbait story about some shit that might happen in the future. We don't even know if Sleepy Joe is going to be alive that long.

I think this was just bad timing because Red Lobster is now about to go bankrupt because of this ridiculously suicidal promo, despite having already gone bankrupt doing something almost identical years and years ago.

Also Red Lobster sucks and blapipo don't tip dey waiter.

I do work hard to secure the future for white people Null! And I actually have not watched any new Japanese cartoons so point proven ig.

And I’m not sure Null should be allowed to bully users, even if they are slavic. Slavs are white.

But I do like Null’s point that tradness is blithely applied to anywhere introverted men think will get them laid. It’s a more honest definition.

Lastly, good show.

The ability to think rationally and troubleshoot a non-functional system is being bred out of humanity at an alarming rate.

I don’t care if you’ve never seen a toaster before you should be able to deduce it’s not working because it’s not plugged in.
