Go middle of the road. Don't cheap out, but there's no need to go overboard with something absolute top of the line. Suits can be tailored smaller, but they're not miracle workers so it should be done within one size or maybe two.

Tuxedo T-shirt with a (nice) fedora is also widely accepted in most court and legislative settings. Looking forward to your Kiwi PAC appearances.

You need a green riddler styled suit and cane or a heaven and hell jbp styled suit. Don't forget to get some fancy custom cuff links and a pin on your chest to show you care about the issues

If you want a good suit cheap second hand stores tend to have a lot of them that are basically unworn. You could easily get it tailored to fit and boom, you got a great suit. If you're lucky it might even fit off the rack, my best suit is some Italian brand I got for fifty bucks.
If you want brand new, I'd personally recommend you treat it as a "special" purchase and get a good suit tailored to fit. Nobody has ever shit on someone for having a too high quality suit,
With tailoring, if you lose a ton of weight it might be better to just get a new one but in general you can easily lose weight and get it redone.
Now, if you're a real cheapass who still demands quality Poshmark is the bidness. It's literally just fashion dorks selling and reselling clothes of any variety you can imagine, and you can bargain down prices and hunt for good deals. If you know how to shop smart and look into brands a little bit you can get anything you want on the cheap.
