Same with corn. Most corn is insanely sweet the moment it is picked, but within an hour of being harvest most of the sugar converts into starch. Eating your own corn that you just harvested and shucked is a world away from the stuff at the supermarket.Null's dislike for whole tomato is not unjustified because of a not so well known fact, that if a tomato isn't super fresh and has to be preserved for transport, it loses a lot of flavor and tends to just suck ass. If you grow your own tomatoes in a garden and compare the taste to store-bought ones, unless it's like from a farmer's market right off the vine, you'd be fucking shocked at the difference. It's legitimately unbelievable.
